Compact perked up slightly at Devin's words. He did apologize, and it did look to be as sincere as possible... and she was not going to stretch more out of him. Though she was still slightly offended (as no one can take away a first reaction), she took the apology and picked herself up best she could; she was not depressed enough to leave sludge everywhere she sat upon.
Though... human remains might have been something she would have eaten... but that was a later discussion.
Hitomi breathed out a sigh as Compact settled down. That would have been a complete fiasco if Devin was an insensitive prick, as Hitomi seemed to think he was. Maybe this was not going to be as bad as she thought it was.
Spike gave Cerberus an innocent look in response to the other dog Pokemon's negative attitude. Whatever he thought Spike was going to do was far from what he actually planned on doing...
He was right, Spike did not own this dog's trainer. No, he barely owned his own Pokeball half the time, and he would never dream of taking a trainer from a Pokemon! That was cruelty!
He felt a small hand on his flank, and he glanced over at Hitomi, who had, of course, put it there, though the girl's eyes were on the trainer in front of her. She too stood up, and took his hand, shaking it.
"I think I'll take a drive by that coffee shop I've heard so much about," she reflected after a moment, "I hope this does end up panning out though..."
Or else she would be stuck panhandling, for she refused to take any of these other rather strange jobs. Though, why she went for this one, was just...
Well, it was strange indeed.
Removing her hand from his, she nodded at Illusion and Cerberus as respectfully as she could, and guided her Pokemon out of the Pits.
It looked like she had found something to curb the financial troubles at long last...
