It was the only beautiful place she could find in all of Remoor. Somehow, the rest of Remoor was either filled with the nastiest people she had ever seen, or it was barren of all human life. How could such a land be filled with such despair and hoplessness? It had so much potential to be beautiful.
Of course, no one seemed to want that beauty. She had run into a few people kicking a tree trunk earlier... and decided to stay rather far away.
Ronald (her new Cave-Smeargle friend) had told her that the only place with 'the pastel colors that match her beautiful bushes' were the Flower Fields to the west. Of course, many of the flowers had either closed up or went down back into the ground for the colder weather. Either that or they had died. It was still an absolutely beautiful sight, seeing as the fall flowers had come out for the time being. There were a lot of ripe berries in their berry bushes, and lush golden orange bushes all over the place.
It matched Shie's current look perfectly. Her own bush was golden, and she looked exactly like a rotten chia pet, but much much cuter.
"Oh, what a wonderful place to rest," she said, musical voice rising above the bushes. She would have rested at the spot as well, if it were not for the small herd of Groundstam that came into the area. There were four or five of them, looking to eat some of the plentiful fruit in the area.
"Oh, hello there!" Shie called out, louder than she really wanted to. None of the Pokemon seemed to mind her, seeing as they were about ten times her size. She snorted.
"HELLO!" she called out, her voice still incredibly cheery despite the volume she used. One of the large Pokemon stared down at her.
".... Moving bush?"
"No! I'm Shaymin!" she shouted.
"I can hear you, Moving Bush."
"I'm not a Movin- nevermind... How is your day?"
"Hektor hungry. Hektor eat berries. Hektor day will go well."
"Oh, how wonderful Hektor. I'm sure there are plenty of berries here!"
".... Good bye Moving Bush."
And the Groundstam wandered off, leaving Shie all alone. She pouted, and moved under the nearest bush.
And now it was sleep time.

The slender swan-shape of Cresselia could be seen gliding through the skies above the swamp-like waters, contrasting brilliantly with the murky, decayed vegetation and the filthy water beneath her.
Slime-covered trees were bent in distorted positions, reaching down in a futile attempt for some form of sustenance in the muck. Some unnamed, conglomeration of substance stretched as far as the eye could see- so ugly that sewage was a polite term, and by no stretch of the imagination. It was unimaginable that any creature would make this land their home, yet roaming creatures could be found; mutated into forms so revolting that the very act of speaking of them could empty the contents of a weak stomach.
It was over this area, the Sildios Swamp of Remoor, that Cresselia found herself flying. Inwardly, she was sickened by the sight below, but far more saddened, deeply so, by how toxic and polluted it was. The very nature of the land itself had been mangled and scarred by the actions of the humans, and it brought devastating effects upon its inhabitants.
Ahead, she caught a faint view of reflected light on the clouds ahead- usually a sign of clean, or at least mostly clear water below. Cresselia soared gratefully toward the light, yearning for the sight of anything besides swamp. As she came closer, she watched the gradual shift of the trees below her, from bent and snarled to lean and willowy. Bright, fall flowers came into view in a crisp vision of color. Grassy meadows bordered and decorated with scattered gold bushes bloomed below her, and even as some of the flowers withered and others had died, they were left a stunning impression.
Cresselia slowly descended into the fragrant meadow, sniffing appreciatively at the lovely scents that danced through the air. The flowers were all so very cute...
Cresselia could see a herd of pokemon far ahead, browsing on the fruit in the area, so she kept her distance. However, for a few moments she considered also following suit as she gazed at the ripe fruit in the area.
Finally, she hovered forward, delicately taking the hard flesh of one of the nearby sitrus berries in her beak. The meadow itself was one of beauty, and it had eased her eyes from the darkened swamp water, and the gentle perfume of the flowers had dispelled the lasting smell. However, she mused that there was that persistent taste from the air on her tongue. The invigorating juices of the berry soon rid her of that, too.
Cresselia floated peacefully above the flowers, the very epitome of serenity as she looked out at the meadow, meditating with sadness on the deplorable state of the rest of the region. She would rest here, in this lovely sanctuary of nature before she would venture back into the corrupt civilization and its inhabitants.

A dark shadow flitted across the ground of the beautiful meadow, using the shadows of the flowers to furthe obsure its almsot undetectable presence. It did not seem to have any definite course in mind, but instead flitted about here and there, aimless despite the swiftness of its movements.
It was with absolute and complete relief that Darkrai had finally managed to discover the Flower Fields of Remoor. The wraith of bad dreams was not particularly drawn to such bright and cheerful places per se, but he had an undeniable love for the beauty of nature, and it was not entirely impossible to see him calmly observing a flowery meadow much like this one from time to time.
Unfortunately, such places were almost nonexistant in Remoor. Wherever Darkrai had flown, all he had seen was pollution, destroyed urban wastelands and unspeakable devastation to the sanctity of the planet. With each synthetic horror Darkrai's desperation to find even one clean patch of nature had mutliplied until finally he found the Flower Fields. It was the closest Darkrai had ever come to shouting for joy, and that fact alone scared him. His desperation at finding a place like this and his undeniable happiness at finally succeeding only further served to prove just how far gone the rest of Remoor had become. Had humans no love at all for the planet on which they lived?
Darkrai continue to flit about the flowers, simply taking in the fact that they were here and clean and beautiful, not dead or horribly polluted. He almost didn't even notice the other Pokemon wandering about the meadow, and he certainly payed them no mind at all. After a time he happened upon a berry bush, and without even bothering to check what sort of berries they were, he stuck a hand up out of the Shadow Haven and snagged one. He then proceeded to squash it between his palms, absorbing the nutrients and juice of it, and was pleasantly surprised to taste the wonderful sweetness of a Custap Berry.
Afte flitting about for a little while longer, Darkrai was surprised to find a sleeping Shaymin lying into the flowers. Curious, he flitted closer. It appeared to be a perfectly normal Shaymin who happened to have adopted a very festive auburn coloration. For a moment Darkrai attempted to acertain whether this was the Ascended Shaymin, but there had never been any sort of defining mark or trait associated with it, so the effort was futile.
For a moment Darkrai pondered exactly what he could do given the situation. On the one hand, he could simply flit away and mind his own buisiness. Nothing was gained from this venture, but nothing was lost either. On the other hand, he could wake the Shaymin up and see what happened from their. His last option was to start given the small bush-like creature a nightmare.
Anyone observign at this point might wonder why Darkrai didn't immediately go with the third option. Truth be told, Darkrai didn't have a reason. Sometimes spreading fear just wasn't the first choice that came to mind. However, he ultimately decided he didn't have anything better to do. Besides, his very presence was already causign a nightmare to take hold, so he might as well finish what he had started.
Casually Darkrai reached a single claw out of the ground and lightly tapped the Shaymin on the forehead. This was allow the nightmare the take hold with much greater speed than if he had simply stayed there. then he simply waited there, allowing his dark presence to feed to black void of terror that was aboutthe engulf the poor creature's mind.

She was never asleep to begin with. As a matter of fact, she had an eye open as she felt the flowers shift around by the body of another Pokemon. Though she was not entirely sure which Pokemon it was, she was incredibly curious and had to at least attempt to figure out what it was that was in the fields with her. She hoped they were real Pokemon.
Imagine her slight dismay when she saw Darkrai, a Pokemon she was used to hearing about in Sinnoh. Her other eye opened, and she sniffed out in his general direction just in time to get poked in the forehead.
She sneezed.
"... Oh, excuse me," she said happily, "I must be coming down with something... I hope it does not last too long."
She smiled up at the creature, despite her dismay. Maybe the stories about Darkrai just being a jerk were not true? The only way to find out is by talking to such a Pokemon.
He was big...
"Hello there, Sir Darkrai... I am Shima Solilus, but everyone I am aware of calls me Shie."
As she smiled at him, she let loose another sneeze. A few of her golden leaves fell from her bush above.
"Oh, excuse me!"
She respectfully nodded her head at the Darkrai, and sniffed again. There was another Pokemon here. It was either that or the Darkrai liked eating many berries.
"Did you see anyone else on the way down, Sir Darkrai?"
Pulling herself upwards, Shie trotted forward to get a better view of the sky. Maybe there was someone up there?
"Hello? Is there anyone else here?"
She was curious; was there someone up there? Well, she could have just checked. All she needed was a way to open up her petals. Just a little sunlight would do.
As she sat, it seemed the sunlight became a little brighter, as if clouds were blown out of the way. What a Sunny Day it had become!

((Uh, Violet? Darkrai never actually left the Shadow Haven. He's still just a shadow on the ground. Shie can notice him if you like, but he's not actually looming over her.))
Violet OOC: Darkrai doesn't have to be looming over her to be big to her. She's eight inches tall after all.... He's gonna get noticed 'cause she's in tune with nature and he had a berry... Aaaand there's a Cresselia in the area who didn't say anything about having a fun Dream Land or something... no other reason really. Hey, next time you have something up with someone's post, PM their account, okay? OOC notes in posts like this kinda break flow.

As Cresselia relaxed, she lowered the strength of her levitation until she could just feel the tickle of the grass on her veils, causing her to smile faintly at the gentle brushing of their blades.
The lunar swan quirked her head slightly. Perhaps she was just imagining things, but she would have sworn she heard a voice.
She looked over the clearing, glancing at the browsing pokemon. They were still going about their own buisness, and it didn't seem as if they had said anything.
"Is there anyone else here?"
Cresselia turned. The voice was cheery and pleasant, this time louder as it rang out over the clearing. She glanced out across the sea of flowers, but saw nothing but small golden bushes and blades of grass, surrounded by trees. She then realized the friendly but slightly nervous aura coming from across the clearing and out of sight, more specifically from a small berry-bearing bush, a voice she did not recognize.
The celestial pokemon remained where she was, watching the bushes intently. The clouds were beginning to part in the sky, allowing the sun to bathe the area in a warm glow of light.
Hello. My name is Cresselia.
Cresselia lightly remarked to the small bush in a voice similar to that of a bell. Her telepathy was unobtrusive, but noticeable. She remained out of sight and on the other side of the clearing, quietly observing the area. Perhaps the other creature would reply to her in thought, if it was familiar with telepathy.
Is there something wrong?
Cresselia queried gently. She was still aware of the faintly apprehensive aura surrounding the bush. Perhaps she should approach the creature.

Somewhat to Darkrai's surprise, the Shaymin actually flinched and sneezed when he tapped her on the forehead. Apparently she had not been asleep in the first place. Irritating. However, it was not nearly as irritating as what the girl did next. She proceeded to look down at him and introduce herself. Darkrai blanched. She was trying to be friendly. She actually had the gall to think that she could get chummy with the Lord of Nightmares. Well, that just wouldn't do at all.
The suddenly sunny sky seemed to dim slightly in brightness. An unnatural hush fell over the flower fields as a bitter black wind whipped through the grass with an eerie hiss. The shadows seemed to flicker and dance around the small hedgehog-like creature, clawing and lashing at her as if to rip her skin open. An eerie black mist began seeping out of the ground in front of her, looping all about and wrapping about her body with its snakey tendrils.
It was all hokum, to be perfectly honest, but that didn't make it any less eerie. Darkrai had spent eons practicing exactly how to terrorize every species on earth, living or not, and he had gotten quite good at it by now. Small creatures were the easiest by far. Their natural fear due to their minute size made it so easy to prey upon them.
Slowly, the shadows on the ground in front of Shie bulged upward, taking on solid form as they did so. From the black mass extended tendrils that defined themselves into arms. A head rose from the upper portion of the mass and was almost immediately surrounded by a vicious ring of spines. The other details gradually filled themselves in, and when they were done Darkrai loomed over the tiny Shaymin like the terrible shadow of death. Slowly, imperiously, he folded his arms across his chest and leered down at the small creature with an eye that positively glowed with cool anger, radiating an almost palpable aura of pure intimidation and fear tinged heavily with contempt.
"Ignorant rodent," he said slowly in a tone as frigid as ice water. "Do you have any idea who you are talking to?"

As the other Pokemon were making themselves known, Shie's own form had taken a different shape. She began to glow brightly, her legs getting longer and her eyes getting much bigger. As the glow subsided, a brilliant creature stood before both the Cresselia and the Darkrai (mostly the Darkrai though), that stood no more than a small head taller than her original form, with eyes as blue as the summer skies, and a bright red mohawk on her head.
"Much better," she stated happily, before glancing at the sky once more, "Oh!"
She did not realize she was being attacked! Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed! Stepping onto the air, she stared downwards at the strange shadow objects. Even if they meant only to scare her, she could never be too cautious. Remoor was full of hooligans!
She did not realize that the other Pokemon was a psychic type too! Well, two could play that game quite well!
Nothing is wrong dear Cresselia. I was merely curious as to who was up in the sky. Would you like to come down and chat with myself and this wonderful Darkrai? He just materialized himself... oh dear, he must be the grumpiest of nightmare creatures... maybe you should not come down...
Her telepathy was a sweet as a spring wind, despite the cold weather. It had the warmth of the bright sun and the calm of a gentle breeze. If telepathy could make music, both of the psychic types would have made a beautiful symphony together.
But that was far from the point.
The eyes on Darkrai were far from angry, or, for that matter, scared. Despite his now-looming figure, he was not that intimidating. They were both legendary Pokemon, and they both had their own special qualities.
"Why yes I do know who you are," she said cheerily, tail wagging behind her, "You, dear sir, are Darkrai, Lord of all Nightmares, Bearer of Darkness. I am pretty sure most of the land of Remoor has heard of you, dear Sir. Mespirit speaks favorably of you..."
She smiled warmly at him once more, and stepped upon the sky, as if the sky itself were a set of stepping stones. Soon enough, she was spiraling around where his form was going to be.
"I should wonder, Dear Sir... do you know who I am? I just want to set things clear, I speak this way merely because we are on the same sort of... 'status quo' on this world..."
Whether he knew it or not, Shaymin always thought Legendary Pokemon should have been treated with the same respect as the other Legendary Pokemon, regardless of their reputation or what region they were from. Her terminology could have meant anything to anyone, however. She was a little naive at this sort of thing...

To Cresselia's slight astonishment, a warm, amiable voice replied in telepathy, sweet and noticeably clearer than the one that had called across the clearing. She smiled in pleasant surprise. It wasn't often that she heard non-psychics who could skillfully utilize the technique.
Actually, I am already resting across the field from you. Cresselia replied pleasantly as shifted slightly to gaze out across the meadow. Though she was out of sight, the sweet-voiced creature's aura had changed slightly in shape and in quality. The slight apprehension about the her seemed to have disappeared, and she seemed to be perfectly normal.
On hearing of her counterpart, Cresselia quirked her head in surprise. Then she frowned ever-so-slightly. Wonderful? It was not a word she had often heard applied to the nightmare-giving wraith. Perhaps she had mistaken someone else for him? The creature's next words and their ridiculous understatement gave Cresselia the impression that either she was communicating with a very optimistic person, or that Darkrai was actually having a good day for once. She was willing to wager the former was the likeliest case.
Darkrai's temperament is rather suited to his position. The lunar swan replied with reserve. She did not move, instead scanning the area for his aura, or more specifically, his lack thereof. The beautiful autumn-colored meadow seemed vibrant with nature and warmth despite the cool air, and she saw no indication of either the sweet-voiced creature or her counterpart.
I don't wish to intrude on your conversation. But, should you need any help, I will be staying here in this lovely area for some time before I move on. The offer was clear enough. If Darkrai were to cause any significant trouble, she would be there to help. Otherwise, she would much rather avoid the new conflict that would inevitably begin when she came in sight of the dark pokemon.
While she might normally jump at the chance to engage her counterpart, Cresselia had not yet offered a proper apology for her actions against him since she sworn to do so. The chances were high that simply appearing for no reason would initiate a fight, or the more likely option, startle him into fleeing. Deep down, if she were honest, the main reason was that the celestial pokemon balked at the idea of delivering such an apology in front of another pokemon.

The exchange between Shie and Cresselia went entirely unnoticed by Darkrai, as did the fact that his counterpart was even here. Telepathy constituted the entirety of Darkrai's psychic abilities, so he would not notice Cresselia or any other Pokémon until one of his other senses denoted their presence.
However, he was fully aware of the fact that Shie did not seem in the slightest bit intimidated by him. She seemed evidently to know who he was, and she was hardly being disrespectful towards him, but nevertheless her casual attitude enraged him.
What Shie evidently did not understand was that showing respect to Darkrai had nothing to do with polite words or anything of the sort. What Darkrai wanted was not civility, but fear. To him, fear was respect. Darkrai was the epitome, the very embodiment of fear. To quail with fright before him, even once, was to admit the fact that one was affected by fear and thus giving their due to him. To act bold in his presence was to say that you were above everything to do with fright and terror, and so were above Darkrai himself. It was the greatest insult possible to him, and was very likely to push his temper over the edge very quickly.
"I should wonder, Dear Sir... do you know who I am? I just want to set things clear, I speak this way merely because we are on the same sort of... 'status quo' on this world..."
Darkrai’s eye narrowed dangerously. His fists clenched at his sides, and sparks of black energy laced across the backs of his hands.
“I know exactly what you are,” Darkrai stated in his frigid tone. “You are an ignorant rat who does not know what is good for her. You would do well to stay wary in the presence of one who would kill you without the slightest qualm.” He would hear no further comments from her after that, no matter what she tried to say.
What happened next was entirely dependant upon how perceptive Shie was to very small oddities, and whether her instincts served her well. If she was the perceptive type, or even if she just happened to focus at exactly the right moment she might detect a slight blurring at the edges of her vision or perhaps a faint buzz in her ears. These were the only idications that Darkrai was currently placing her under the hold of the Dark Illusions, and they signified they only real chance she had to fight back. Here, in this one instant Darkrai was vulnerable as he devoted all his concentration to concealing what he was doing. If she attacked him now he would not be able to react fast enough to escape, and the illusion would break. However, the window would close very quickly and if it did, Shie would find escaping the illusion prematurely exponentially more difficult.
