Other Appearance Information: Going from top to bottom here, folks. Addy has auburn hair, which generally waves out towards the ends that graze the very bottom of her shoulder blades. Her hair is thick, and she never does anything to it outside of tying it up into a loose bun. She has some side-bangs on the left side of her forehead, made up of her simple face-framing layers. Depending on the lighting, her hair can be a red-tinted brown to a dark red and anywhere in between.
Addy has a round face and fair complexion. She isn't ghostly pale, but she certainly isn't tan. She has almond-shaped green eyes, which are always bright and seem to be teasing anyone Addy looks at.
Normally, you'll see Addy wearing jeans and a t-shirt of some kind, sometimes a jacket or hoodie. On lazy days, you can often see her wearing a pair of Vulpix or Eevee slippers and sweatpants as she wanders around the quieter parts of the base. Otherwise, she keeps to her normal outfit and a pair of black and white sneakers. When she goes out, she'll often don a hat of some sort.
Personal Related Information:
Personality: While you would assume the name Adeline to mean something such as soft or gentle, it truly means noble. And Addy Black is quite proud to live up to her name. She considers herself brave, courageous, and willing to help those who need it. She joined the underground resistance five years ago so she could better help the suffering region of Remoor. Though, being noble, she’s a little… rash. She doesn’t tend to think things through, and it almost always comes back to bite her in the ass. She never thinks before speaking, and it gets her on trouble on more than one occasion.
And, though she dislikes to see people suffer, she takes a somewhat sadistic joy in any sort of brawls stemmed from some sort of stupid matter. She loves to watch bar fights and observe the going ons of people in bars. When you're drunk, you say what's on your mind. Of course, this leads to some very interesting conversations to listen to. Addy can be a little... nosy, snoopy. She prefers to be kept in the loop, even if she isn't part of it herself. She enjoys lurking in the shadows unnoticed. At times, she's considered becoming a Specialist for espionage.
She is incredibly impatient with everyone, and snaps when she's been waiting too long or didn't get enough sleep. Taking your time is a waste of time. There is no time like the present. Addy doesn't dwell on problems unless the subject is verbally brought up. Terri tries to make sure Addy isn't just running from all of her problems, but her attempts are always foiled at first, but the Pterodactyl is persistent. Finally, Addy will give in and really think about an issue. Though problems make Addy anxious, she ignores little ones and hides any insecurity she may have under a mask of confidence. But then the little problems start to pile up, and then Addy finds herself just letting it all out on some poor soul that probably didn't deserve it.
While Addy is smart, confident, and determined, she isn't a good leader. When in a real crisis, she's anything but calm. She will snap at anyone that she feels deserves it and will even throw something to get rid of nervous energy. Caleb teases they should get her a stress ball. Sachi says that Addy would just throw that too.
While she'll hate you if you lie, it's sometimes better for her health (and others, for that matter) that others downplay problems just a little bit, or telling only part of the truth. After everything is said and done, she'll pretend to grudgingly apologize, but she is truly grateful. But, if it's obvious you're hiding something or not saying everything, Addy will pry until you break down.
She loves her friends, but isn't much for talking. Actions speak louder than words, and Addy is often wandering the road less traveled. She enjoys being a little different, and she likes to make an impact. But she despises drama queens and any sort of dramatics. She can't even watch most drama movies. And don't even get her started on dramas about romance. Someone needs to go and give all of those people a reality check. Just give her a good action or humor flick and popcorn, and she's set.
Addy's confidence can sometimes be another fault. Convinced she can't possibly fail, she'll march into something without thinking. She doesn't seem to notice all the flaws in a plan until someone points it out and, determined not to be wrong, Addy will vehemently deny any claims that the plan needs fixing. She's stubborn and proud, and this almost always leads people to believe she's arrogant and thinks herself above everyone else.
Addy laughs incredibly easily, and is normally a light-hearted realist. But, she does have a temper, and her bite is worse then her bark, as any of her Pokemon will proudly tell you.
History: Addy was born in the town of Barkwish, and her father remains there to this day. Her parents had run a joint daycare and breeding service along with a specialty shop. The house's backyard was the Isabella Plains. Her mother, for the most part, took care of the daycare and breeding service and her father ran the shop. As Adeline grew, she started helping out wherever she could. She found herself admiring the evolutionary stones and Pokemon items that lined the shelves.
The store also served as a pawn shop for the town as well. If someone had an interesting object, they could barter it for money or another item. The system worked well, daycare clients often lingered in the store after dropping off or picking up their Pokemon, and the store's customers picked up fliers for the daycare. The two businesses helped the other.
But then, just as Addy was making to get ready to turn twelve - the age that her parents said she could start her journey - her mother was struck ill. The whole family - Addy, her father, and the four Pokemon the family owned - did everything they could. But Addy's mother was soon moved to Nada to receive better hospital care there. Addy and her father switched shifts while one wen tot visit, as they needed the sotre as open as possible to make money to pay for the medical bills.
But Addy's mother wasn't going to come home again. She passed away after several months of treatment before the doctors finally turned off the machines keeping her alive. Addy didn't cry. She worked, and worked, until her hands were sore and she was exhausted. She helped her father with the store, and pretty much ran the daycare on her own. She knew how, and she knew that her father needed her to be strong.
But then, when Addy tripped with a bag of Pokemon food and broke her leg, everything sort of fell apart. Addy had turned thirteen by then, and was given a cast and crutches. She was pretty much immobilized for several weeks. When she came home, she kept working, until her father forcibly stopped her.
Addy broke down then, and told her father everything. She was trying to be strong for him, and to fill her mother's spot. Addy had convinced herself that if she worked hard enough, she could help the family businesses become the best they could be. her father held her for a long time that night, and Addy started to look up and relax a bit. She rested her leg, and started looking around for some cheap help.
She found it in Jason. Jason was older than she was, starting high school later. Jason helped with the daycare service, doing most of the manual labor while Addy continued to do most of the paperwork and such. The two become much like siblings, and even Addy's father grew fond of Jason. Things were starting to get back on track, and Addy was eagerly waiting for the day she could finally start her journey.
But, when Addy was sixteen, Mewtwo and Pravus finally clashed for the first time. By then, preparations were being made and finalized so Addy could leave on her journey in a few short months. But then a town near Barkwish was hit by conflict, and Addy postponed her departure, despite protests from both her father and Jason. Nearing seventeen, Addy finally started hearing whisperings of an underground resistance. After heading out into town and making hints that she would be interested in joining, someone approached her. She was made a member shortly after, and she started to help supply Pokemon to new recruits by donating eggs left behind at the daycare.
Her father, as a sort of good luck gift, gave Addy her own Pokemon. But it was still an egg. So she ended up getting an already hatched Pokemon - a Nincada. Addy was less than pleased with the Pokemon. Shortly after joining, she talked to a man named Law. He specialized in hand-to-hand combat and supplied Pokemon for the resistance. After a long chat, she told him she woudl be interested in learning this hand-to-hand combat of his.
As the years went on, Law taught her much about hand-to-hand fighting. When Addy was seventeen, groups started being sent out to attempt and raid Pravus transports that carried items. On one raid, amongst the items, was a box of Poke Balls. It turned out this van had come from another Pravus lab somewhere in the middle of the countryside, where these fossil Pokemon had been brought back to life.
Addy talked to an Aerodactyl for some time, who acted as a spokesperson for the fossils, and the two mutually agreed that the young fossil Pokemon would be better off staying with the resistance. Much to Addys' surprise, the Aerodactyl wanted to join her team. And so Terri was added to Addy's roster.
By now, Addy's egg had hatched into an Eevee and evolved into a Jolteon after Addy's father sent a Thunderstone to Addy's Nada apartment. Nincada was still a Nincada, but Addy was starting to learn patience with the bug Pokemon.
A few months after finding Terri, Addy was doing some scouting work in the mountains when she found a young Snorunt. It was evident the Snorunt was alone and scared, and it seemed absolutely alone. Addy took it to the Pokemon Center, and put it back in the cave. But the Snorunt wanted a battle. Addy assumed it had something to do with the creature's pride, so she battled the Pokemon with Sachi. The Snorunt fought surprisingly well. After Sachi defeated it, Addy went ahead and threw a Poke Ball, wondering if the Snorunt wanted to be caught. But the ball finally stilled, and Irie joined the team. After the battle, Irie became the proud and solemn creature she is even today.
Addy was about eighteen or so when she visited her father's home in Barkwish for the last time for two years. When she first walked in, there was a Vulpix attempting to get to the shelved Fire Stones. After scooping the thief into her arms (and getting a singed face for it) Jason and his Ninetales came downstairs. Almost immediately, the Vulpix tried to play the role of an innocent child. Jason wasn't fooled, though, and explained to Addy how the Vulpix, Caleb, had been trying to evolve since the day it had hatched a week ago. Addy volunteered to take the "adorable" thing in, not hearing Jason's warnings.
How she wish she had. Caleb got himself into all sorts of trouble and made more enemies than an Ambipom could count on all of it's hands. Soon enough, the Vulpix learned that he wasn't going to be evolving with the way he was behaving. So he attempted to be better behaved. And Addy waits for the day when she'll know that after Caleb evolves, he'll retain a mature behavior.
At twenty years old, with the fighting starting to get worse, it was decided the resistance would surface as the Rangers. People were pouring into Nada with stories of destroyed towns and burnt down cities. And then, after several weeks of tension, Barkwish was hit. The lab was burnt down, and the store had suffered from some damage.
After pleading for two weeks to go down to Barkwish to help out, Addy was allowed to go home. After helping out for a day, Addy went to the store to spend the night. Both her father and Jason seemed tense, and wouldn't say why until they were all upstairs in the flat and the store closed. Her father explained that Pravus had its eye on the store and daycare center. They were starting to take any eggs that showed up, and took any "surplus" items from the store without paying. Jason said that Addy shouldn't be hanging around the store as much, because if they found out a Ranger was associated with the store, it wouldn't turn out well. Though Addy heeded Jason's warnings, she still pines to return. But she won't - she'll end up risking both her father and Jason's lives, along with the store itself. So, she fights for not only Remoor, but her home. She isn't about to let her mother down by letting Pravus get their hands on the store.
Characters Pokemon:
Addy’s specialties are fast Pokemon — good luck outrunning them.
Name: Vision (“Viz”) Species: Ninjask Age: 6 years Level: 45 Personality: Viz had poor self-confidence as a Nincada because of Addy’s initial disappointment with him as her starter. But once he evolved and saw Addy’s joy, he started to look up and become a little more comfortable with her and her other Pokemon. When he discovered he could outspeed nearly anything he wanted to, his ego was inflated big time. Though now he’s so proud it borders on arrogance, he still retains his docile personality from his days of a Nincada. But he will defend any person he considers a friend, and isn’t about to back down from any sort of challenge. Especially a race.
Attacks:
- Bug Bite
- Fury Swipes
- Double Team
- Fury Cutter
- Slash
- Shadow Ball
- Aerial Ace
Name: Sachi Species: Jolteon Age: 6 years Level: 45 Personality: Addy doesn't regret taking the Pokemon egg from her father. Except during those common instances when Sachi gets into arguments with people and Pokémon alike. She’s a bit of a hot-head, and incredibly proud. She never fares well after losing to Viz in their many races, and is likely to snap at anyone that tries to speak to her for a few hours afterwards. But the Jolteon bounces back by the next day and is her usual, happy self. She can be pessimistic, but she calls it realism.
Attacks:
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Pin Missile
- Quick Attack
- Thunder Fang
- Shadow Ball
Name: Irie Species: Froslass Age: 7 years or so, from what Addy and the breeders can tell. Level: 43 Personality: Irie is soft and gentle, though incredibly sad-looking. She doesn’t speak at all. And her eyes carry this ever-haunting expression of sorrow. Addy found her as a Snorunt, huddling in a corner of a frigid cave in the mountains. Her parents were nowhere to be found, so, after a battle, Addy captured Irie and she became a part of the team. The Froslass is dignified and very poised, and isn’t often visibly angered. But, on the rare occasion you wind her up to her very limit, you will face her wrath. The only time Addy has seen Irie truly happy is when the Froslass saw the Dawn Stone in Addy’s hands before evolving, and a few minutes after evolution. And then, as quickly as the joy had appeared, it had left her, and the Froslass carried an expression of perpetual sorrow.
Attacks:
- Headbutt
- Confuse Ray
- Ominuous Wind
- Ice Shard
- Ice Beam
- Ice Fang
- Shadow Ball
Name: Terri Species: Aerodactyl Age: 4 years Level: 42 Personality: Believe it or not, Terri is actually quite passive for an Aerodactyl. Unless you mistake her for a male. Because she isn’t. So don’t — unless you want a creature with saw-blade teeth after you. But, so long as you make her gender clear (and, no, passing her off as an ‘it’ won’t work either) and treat living creatures with proper respect, you should get along with her perfectly fine. She’s very chatty, and enjoys an intelligent person or Pokémon to talk to. Though she’ll participate in Sachi and Viz’s races, she more or less lets them win. Unless Sachi teased her beforehand to make sure the Aerodactyl was actual competition. Then she wipes Sachi into the ground and regrets doing so when Sachi gets all despondent-like. She doesn’t like seeing people upset, and tries her best to make sure Addy doesn’t go and get herself killed.
Attacks:
- Thunder Fang
- Fire Fang
- Wing Attack
- Ancientpower
- Crunch
- Take Down
- Dragon Claw
- Steel Wing
Name: Caleb Species: Vulpix Age: 3 Level: 34 Personality: On the surface, Caleb seems very easy-going and carefree and doesn’t seem to take fighting or battling too seriously. But, when it finally gets to the really fighting, you’ll find the Vulpix can be quite wily and rude. If you trash-talk first, you’ll discover this even sooner. He loves to battle, and doesn’t take kindly to losing. He enjoys cuddling up to Addy, rubbing against her legs and tripping her “accidentally” quite often. He pines for the Fire Stones in Addy’s parents’ shop, but Addy is resolved not to evolve him until he is mature enough. And that’s a long way off.
Attacks:
- Ember
- Quick Attack
- Will-o-wisp
- Confuse Ray
- Flamethrower
- Payback
- Fire Spin
