Seiko seems pretty normal, at least if you only glance at him. His most distinguishing feature is his hat, which has a straight brim and he's rarely seen without. As well, he normally wears a wool jacket over a white dress shirt, the collar sticking out and over the jacket. You might say he's dressed rather swanky, and you would be right. He likes to look his best. To complete the outfit, he's often wearing khaki pants, that look good with his jacket.
His hair is brown, and rather spikey, but not unruly, most of the time. If he's without his hat, he often has hairs sticking up all over the place, but since it's a rare time he won't be wearing his hat, no one really knows about that.
As for his size, he's rather slender. Not weak, by any means, he's not strong either, but has some muscle on him. As well, he has a winning smile, and isn't afraid to show it either. To complete the description, he has brown eyes, nothing remarkable, but they do seem to hold a look of intelligence in them

Information:
Personality: Seiko's personality is a interesting one, but who's personality isn't? Everyone has interesting facets to them, and Seiko's no exception.
Seiko doesn't have a set reaction towards other people, it varies with how he feels, and what the other person does. If he's not angry, he'll be rather civil, and he's normally in a good mood. The main factor is how the other person deals with him. If their nice, he'll get along just fine, but if their rude, or seem rather moronic, his opinion rapidly deteriorates.
First off, he doesn't take kindly to idiots. They just irk him, end of story. Still, many people think him an idiot, at least if they just look at him. He has the tenancy to suddenly tweak, twitching some part of him. This is actually a nervous disorder, but not very severe one, as long as he remains on medication. Still, it happens three or four times a day, at random parts of his body. Which he has to play off by acting silly, which makes his blood boil.
As well, at times, maybe twice a month, he will have a seizure, a serious affair for him. As he travels only with his pokemon, and he never known for leaving detailed instructions, he always has every single one of his pokemon out, to control him if he does start having one. Its rather odd, since he for now only has small ones, but if he ever got more, or bigger ones, he'd keep them out too, which might raise some eyebrows.
As well, he cannot stand any sort of weakness in himself, and won't stop doing something, even if it's obvious he's not good enough to do it. The only way to get him to quit something, is when he gets just too tired of trying and failing to do it. Which can take some time. Stubborn would be a good term to fit him at times like these, but only when it comes to his capabilities, since he'll be quite sensible about other things.
Normally, he's rather nice, and isn't afraid to take a risk to help someone he likes. Earning his respect as well isn't that hard, just have to not tick him off. Once you have his respect, you have it for life, unless you do something so bad as to shatter his trust. No one's done that yet, so he doesn't know himself what he'd do, but he tries not to dwell on such things.
He's rather smart, and fancies himself quite a tactician. While he does have a head on his shoulders, he has very little actual experience, so while he's theorized what should happen, and what he'd do if this happened, he hasn't tried it out, and as such, is a bit overconfident in his ability.
This leads to another flaw, that he can sometimes overestimate his own skill. Since he figures he knows what will happen during a certain confrontation, he figures there's nothing to worry about, which isn't always the case. He rarely has a back up plan, so if it goes wrong, he's up a creek without a paddle.
His last interesting facet is his obsession with martial arts. You wouldn't think a kid with a nervous disorder would want to go around punching people, but its more for the therapeutic reasons, not the ninja awesome skills. Still, having done it for several years, he's no pushover, for a fifteen year old kid that at times can barely move.
Sadly, his last flaw's are sort of severe, in that he can be very naive. He knows that the world isn't just, but he feels that it could be. He believes that everyone at one time was good, and that if you try hard enough, you can get out of most situations without killing bad people. So, when the final blow need be dealt, he hesitates, and that has cost him.
This is more trouble than normal, because of the fact he's the kind of person to walk haplessly into a horrible situation then try and fix it. Were not talking about just simple arguments, he can reason those out. He's the guy that walks between to people who are about to punch, and then says "Hey, calm down" Only to get attacked by both of them.
This hesitation to act can plague him, save when he really needs it. He has a temper, which while it's not the easiest to provoke, once you do, he goes crazy. Reason deserts him, and he only wants to pound your face in, rationally possible or otherwise. This had led to him getting the crap kicked out of him, but he doesn't care, if you manage to raise his ire, he'll jump on you.
As for how his pokemon are treated, well, he treats them as if they are his best friends, because, well, they are. Every pokemon he gets, is his family, and he would jump in front of a bullet for them. This may seem different, but its because of his history that he is so caring towards his pokemon. They truly are his family. Of course, he can sometimes get a bit frustrated, but he never yells, even when they don't' do something
Since he has such a close relationship with his pokemon, he see's keeping them in the pokeball as an affront to them, even if he had a choice. Often times, they can function as his arms and hands, because after seizures, he can be weak for days afterward, so if he's being carried around, don't be surprised.
History: Seiko's life wasn't a life of rainbow's and bunny rabbits, but neither was it a life of despair and misery. More of a odd fusion of the two, as he's had quite a lot of bad stuff happen to him, but it wasn't a joyless life.
When he was born, he had a rare nervous disorder, that very few people ever have. He was the first recorded case in a hundred years to get this disease, which causes random muscle spasms, and seizures. As a kid, he would up to three seizures a week, and rarely could walk much at all. As such, he was often confined to bed rest, and whatever physical activity he had to do to prevent total muscle loss.
As a four year old, he was rambunctious, whenever he could be, and the seizures lessened to twice a week if he was unlucky. They also started him up on more intense medication, as his body could handle it, which allowed for him to be more of a kid. The side effects were harsh, but compared to constant bed rest, they were nothing.
Early on, he had a nanny pokemon, who cared for him, since his parents could be rather absent. It cared for him, prevented him from hurting himself whenever he had a seizure, and carried him from place to place, as he often could move very little after one. This is what brought him to start reading, as it took very little physical energy.
At seven, he was starting to lose muscle mass anyway, despite his curious nature, and excursions anyway, and his doctor's said he had two choices. Either to start doing physical rehab, or to do some sort of exercise program. He tried doing rehab, but it simply didn't work for him, it was too hard. So, one of the doctors recommended martial arts.
He took to that like a duck to water. It helped to vent his anger at his own helplessness, and kept him from becoming crippled. From then on, he was at a class at least once a day, unless he'd had a seizure. As well, his seizures were slowing down with age, as he was put on tougher and tougher medication, allowing him to live better.
Still, he was often in bed, thinking about things. That's what really sparked his interest in Pokemon battles, as whenever he looked outside his window, he saw them. He watched, and studied them, loving how strategic it seemed. The entire time, he was cared for by the family's Blaziken, who was his arms and legs quite often, and his growlithe, his best friend.
This went on for a while, until he turned ten. At that age, the family's Blaziken had a baby, and he was given it as a present. It was taught how to take care of him, and raised up to be a Combusken, along with a growlithe he recieved. He had gotten his first sense of adventure training the pair, and it gave him confidence, a little to much in fact.
One day, as he was walking home, he saw a car following him. How did he know this? The same car had following him for quite some time, even when he turned on a few streets just as a joke. As he saw that, he looked around, concerned. He kept walking, faster, but then when he reached a street, the men sped up, driving infront of him and then pulled up ahead, getting out.
They sumarily told him to get in the car, otherwise he'd be hurt. At first, the combusken threatened to hurt them, but they then threw out two machoke's, which overwhelmed his two pokemon and captured him, ending the fight. He was pushed into the car, and they drove off hurriedly, changing the license plate so they couldn't be tracked as well.
Thus began a hellish time in his life. As he was bound and gagged in the back, they talked about what they were doing, and he pieced together who they were. They were a group of his dad's former employee's who were, in their opinion, wrongfully laid off. As each of them fed off each other, they plotted more and more dastardly things, until they hit onto the perfect plan. They would kidnap the boss's kid for ransom, and then when they exchanged the money, kill the boss and the kid, before making off with the money.
As they needed live bait, they didn't do anything exactly horrible to him, but that wasn't necessary, they sound found out. Within three days of the kidnapping, after they'd sent out a teaser note, he' had his first seizure. After finding that he couldn't stand, the grinned, and left him in the same room as the door, and never watched him.
This was a torment to Seiko for two reasons. His own body imprisioned him here, and if he could just move, he would be free. As well, every second he was here, he knew his dad was planning to meet these criminals, and since he knew they would kill his dad, and then him.
As he laid there, immobile, he had a lot of time to think, and while his pokemon were left out, but tied to a beam by a strong chain, they were his hands and feet once more. Most of the time, they'd only slap him, but once, after spitting at one of them, he'd gotten beaten. While that had resulted in a black eye and a broken arm, it wasn't as bad as what happened next.
His growlithe and combusken, having had been forced to watch, finally snapped, and attacked the men, but were soon restrained by the machoke, who had come to watch with glee. When they were held down, the men, who numbered about three, started to kick and punch both of them, until they both fainted. That's what really broke his heart. He was supposed to protect them, and yet he was laying there, immobile and unable to help.
From that day on, he swore that he would never ever be able to not help again. He wouldn't let his pokemon ever get hurt by these sort of people ever again, even if it meant his death. After this, he was delirious for a day or two, in pain, and couldn't have left if he wanted.
About a week had passed when the arrangements were made. His arm was broken still, but had been set by his combusken, who fashioned a crude splint. He hadn't suffered a seizure in three days, and he could walk around, though he couldn't manage much more than a hobble. That day, the picked him up, and grinned, spitting in his face and saying he was going to die.
They took him to the exchange place, a abandoned barn out of the city limits, which no one lived in anymore, and he saw his dad waiting there. He almost wanted to run over, but he couldn't, so when the money was placed in the center, and he was released, he smiled. Then he frowned as they picked up the money, and then said "See you in hell!" Suddenly, an explosion rocked the area, and the barn collapsed, lighting on fire as well. A wood pylon fell on top of his head, knocking him out, and he knew no more.
Seiko woke up in a hospital bed, suffering for 2 degree burns, and a minor amount of third degree, but he was remarkably intact. After realizing with joy he wasn't under the kidnappers any longer, he then wondered why he was here. Their had been that explosion, and the fire, he could feel the heat. Soon some nurses came over, and said to him that he should sleep, and worry about this tomorrow. They gave him some sort of injection, and he smiled, leaning back and falling asleep once more.
When he woke, he realized he wasn't in pain anymore, beyond a head that still seemed to throb, and sitting up groggily, asked what had happened. The nurse on staff at the time fetched his mom, who sat down, and explained to him what she knew.
Somehow, his father had managed to get out his blaziken, who prevented the roof from crushing them. After that, his blastoise had soaked a line though the rubble, before the Blaziken dragged the duo out. Still, the burning rubble had burned his dad pretty badly, and he still needed surgery. Still, he made it out without losing anything permanently, and the family returned home.Seiko did gain a distinctive scar on his right arm where he'd been burned, in the shape of a star, but was in no other way worse for the wear.
Beyond that, nothing very eventful had happened to him, until the war started. That, changed his life, like so many others, forever. He'd been getting better, his seizures now relegated to only once or twice a month, even going a few months with none. Life seemed to be looking up, though he didn't know the intense conflict that roiled underneath the peaceful exterior, until it exploded.
It first hit home when his dad came home and said quite simply that he no longer had a job. It had been destroyed in a fight, and he then said that they should leave this town as soon as they could. Seiko was shocked, as they had lived here for so long, but they soon were moved to Nadel Citadel.
It was there that his father thought to build a new life for them. He felt that they would most likely be able to live without too much danger in that fortress of a city. As they settled in, things seemed to settle down, the war was a far away thing, as this city was pretty safe. That was, of course, until the war reached their front door.
As the war approached the city, chaos seemed to swell, as more and more refugee's sought the protection of the city. Many of these people were driven to desperation, and this was his father's downfall. One day, while walking with his father, Seiko saw a group of people beating up a kid. Not one to let things slide, he and his father went up, attempting to break up the fight.
For their efforts, his dad got a knife in the gut. Seiko looked on in shock, as the two men, turned and ran. They were not much older than him, and at stabbing him, they got scared and fled. As his dad staggered back, Seiko grabbed him, and laid him down, a bystander calling for an ambulance as he took off the shirt, to reveal a wicked wound, with blood pouring out.
He tried to stem it somehow, but he didn't know how to treat the wound. The man, Tyralan, had stumbled over, and pulled him off, as he was just getting blood everywhere. As the ambulance pulled up, Seiko was going to walk over, but as he did, everything seemed to catch up with him, and he fell, convulsing in a seizure.
He was carted off to the hospital as well, since he couldn't walk at the moment, and his mom soon arrived. She said that he was being taken to surgery, but that there was a good chance that they could do something, if he lived though the surgery. Seiko sighed, and soon was asleep, as he was very tired from earlier.
When he woke, his mother was at his bedside, and it looked like she'd been crying. He looked at her oddly, wondering what the problem was, and when she saw him, she started to cry again. She then said that his father had died in surgery, and that there was nothing the doctor's could have done to save him.
Seiko's world seemed to shatter. He fell back onto his pillow, and just stared, shocked. It didn't process, he denied the death, for several days. He left the hospital after three, but he seemed sullen, almost sick. Tyralan had generously offered to pay for their hospital fee's, , and even gave them a large sum of cash. He said it was because he felt personally responsible for Seiko's dad's death, and that he had enough to last him a lifetime anyway.
For a while, he grieved, and fumed, but eventually, reason prevailed for him. The main thing that brought him out of his depression was that he no longer had time to himself. With their father gone, he and his mom had to start working. As the war drew to its ceasefire, he decided once and for all he'd start something he'd wanted to start for a long time.
As it stretched on, he raised a tidy sum, and then pocketed what he could spare. After a few months of this, he had enough to start on his own, and after promising his mom he'd never be helpless again, and he'd come back able to stop the war. With that, he left, with his three pokemon, heading off for the great unknown, determined to stop the war for good.
