"Hello, deary. Welcome to the Daycare center. You can drop off your little darling here for a little while, and we'll train it for you while you're gone." The Daycare Center was created to help your Pokemon gain experience--as well as perhaps give your character a break from one particular pain in the neck they may have.
Rules:- Only one Pokemon per character may be placed in the Daycare.
- You may use all of your characters.
- This is not the adoption center--you have to come back and get your little darling nuisance some time.
- Be honest with post counts and taking money out of your character's account when it comes time to pay.
There will be consequences. Harsh ones, too.
- Be aware that not everything may run perfectly and smoothly during your Pokemon's stay.
--The Pokemon could get in a fight, hurting, and possibly even killing each other. --Pravus may drop in and decide to do a little evil, aka, stealing Pokemon from the Daycare. --Etc...
How-To:- To place a Pokemon in the Daycare, create a thread (in character) with your character's Pokemon (name and species) in the subject, along with the word 'drop'.
For example: [ Charles: Empoleon - Drop ] DO NOT REPLY TO THIS THREAD.
- Fill the form out below and place it in the drop-off thread. It's fine if you want to make an actual roleplay post of your character dropping off the Pokemon, or you can just slip the form in and be done with it (laaazy).
- When you are going to pick up your Pokemon, DO NOT create a new thread. Simply make a post in your drop-off thread, and fill out the second (pick-up) form for the post.

Gaining Experience:
Once you drop your Pokemon off, you may leave it there for as long as you wish (just pick it up after a while though--the longer you leave it in the center, the more likely something...'unpleasant' may happen to it). But the amount of experience points your Pokemon earns while in the Daycare is not determined by how long its stay lasts. It is determined by how many IC posts your character (the Pokemon's trainer) makes while it is in the Daycare.
- Each IC post is worth 200 experience points.
Upon return, you multiply the number of IC posts made since the drop-off (NOT beforehand--older posts do NOT count--only ones made while the Pokemon is in the Daycare) by 200, and there is your Pokemon's total gained experience for its stay.
If you are confused or unsure about how experience works in general, look at the Leveling System for information.
Cost:
The cost, in addition, is not based upon how long the Pokemon stays. The price is calculated when you pick the Pokemon up.
- Each IC post you make--each 200 experience points your Pokemon earns--costs 400$
So simply multiply the amount of posts you made while your Pokemon was at the Daycare by 400, and there's the total cost.
IF YOU CANNOT PAY the price, then you have to pay for as much as you can. If you made 10 IC posts, but only have enough money to pay for 5, you MUST pay for those five (even if it means being broke--that's tough luck and bad math skills on your part) posts. Also, you do not get all the experience points. You only get the experience for the posts you paid for. So if you could only afford the 5 out of 10, your Pokemon only earns 5 posts worth of experience points.
Risks:
Remember when I said something bad may happen to your Pokemon while it's in the Daycare? The chance of whether or not something does happen is based on just that--chance.
When you return to pick up your Pokemon, one dice is rolled for each IC post you made. So say you typed up 10 IC posts. You would come to pick up your Pokemon, and post with the Pick-Up form. DO NOT make any changes to your bag or profile (Pokemon stats) yet. Once you post your Pick-Up form, a mod will post after you, rolling one dice per post. So you would get 10 rolls.
The chance of something happening to your Pokemon will be based on those rolls. And no, I'm not telling what the odds/consequences are.
EXAMPLE
Bob is going to drop off his Ditto, Smuckers. So he creates a thread in the Daycare board (NOT replying to this thread), and fills the form out.
Character Name: Bob Pokemon's Name: Smuckers Species: Ditto Level: 18 Experience: 700/1150 Character Posts: 24
Bob's roleplayer goes about roleplaying to their heart's content, and after, say, a month, returns back to the Daycare to pick up Bob's Ditto. During that month while Smuckers was in the daycare, Bob made 15 IC posts. So he comes back to pick up Smuckers, and fills out the Pick-Up form, simply posting in his old thread to confirm the pick-up.
Character Name: Bob Pokemon's Name: Smuckers Species: Ditto Posts made while away: 15 Before Pick-Up Experience: 700/1150 After Pick-Up Experience: MATH TIME Now, remember, each post is worth 200 experience points. So, 15 x 200 = 3000 experience points for Bob. (use an Online Calculator if you don't have one around) So, 700+450=1150 (Ditto went from level 18 to 19), this leaves (3000-450) 2550 experience points left. To get from level 19 to 20, it costs 1200 experience points. So, 2550-1200 = 1350 experince points left, and Smuckers is level 20. To get from level 20 to level 21, it costs 1250. So 1350-1250 = 100 experience points left, and smuckers is level 21. There are 100 experience points left over, and it takes 1300 experience points to reach level 22. So Smucker's 'After Pick-Up Experience' would be: 100/1300 New Level: 21 Cost: MORE MATH. 400$ per post, so 400 x 15 = 6000$ dollars for Bob to pay. So 'Cost' would simply be 6000$
So now, before Bob's roleplayer makes any changes in Bob's account or bag, he needs to wait for a mod to roll a dice to see if Smucker's stay was uneventful, or...well. You know. So a mod pops in, and simply makes another post under his second, and rolls one dice per post he earned while Smuckers was in the daycare. So a mod would roll 15 dice. And luckily, the dice did not roll for anything. So he gained 3 levels and left the Daycare okay.
