"FRIENDFRIENDFRIENDFRIEND! I wanna meet a new person! FRIENDFRIENDFRIENDFRIEND!"
Gri-gri was running around Winston's desk as he sat at it, excited that Winston was calling a one-on-one meeting with one of the many members of Pravus. Gri-gri herself had absolutely no idea what member, or how old this member was at all. All that occurred to her was that it was a new person and she wanted to me him/her/it (if they were a Magnemite Pokemorph, they were very much an it), and that is what she set out to do.
Winston, on the other hand, looked rather serious for someone who was quite an idiot, as he was. Serious indeed, as this was a rather serious matter. Granted, he had a hard time comprehending why he had to let this girl out of the building, but then again, he had to try, right?
He wondered if the girl ever had any family. Of course, he could find that out all on his own, but he did not feel like snooping unless it was absolutely necessary, and this... well, this was far from that.
"Gri-gri, I don't think that's completely necessary..." he said, voice as serious as his expression. His Grista just stared up at him a moment before running around a few more times.
His other Pokemon were strategically either not around or not close enough to matter. Emo-mo was in his pool of water, muttering things about how he needed to 'go die in a fire,' but he could not because 'Winston would not let him, the fascist dictator.'
Maybe he should have had Emo-mo see Desatio. It seemed this was a little more dire than he originally expected, but there was nothing he could do about it right now but hope that Emo-mo was not going to just fling himself out of a window during the meeting. That would probably traumatize people... and he did not want that today. He left traumatizing to his grunts.
Which brought him back to his main thought. This girl needed a 'promotion,' and he was much more than happy to give her one. She deserved it, after all these years of being cooped up in the building. He would have to agree that that was not a good way to spend a life. Despite her age, she was capable and seemed ready to take on the responsibility of being in a squad.
It was the best Winston could get to 'being on her own.' Apparently the council did not agree that she could take that on. One of the members of the council was a child... how was she not capable of being on her own if there was a child on the Pravus Council?
But he could not point that out to anyone. That would have been bad.
"Canwemeetthenewpersonnow?!"
"No Gri-gri... we'll let her come in first..."

Maiya giggled, listening to the tapping of her feet as she slipped through the marble lined labyrinth of a hallway that connected the labs to the entrance hall. The morph had woken up that morning with the thought that something good was going to happen today, though she normally woke up with that feeling nearly every day. Most of the time she lost that feeling when they sent her in for a test or two, but today was different. The first adult that came to see her today didn't come to tell her to switch into experiment clothes, no, they told her that she has been summoned.
By the president.
Even the rather dim experiment knew that this was a big deal. The president didn't just meet with anyone, after all, because he was one of the most important people in the whole region. Her two pokemon were hounded by her mindless babble, asking girly questions such as what she should wear, or if she should put her hair up in a different way. Not that it mattered much, seeing how she had only two sets of clothes and the three of them didn't know much about styling hair, but it was obvious to see that the kid was giddy, even more so than usual.
So here she was, pacing through the halls of Pravus, with only her cactus pokemon Pip at her side. She didn't want to bring the wagon because to her this was 'serious business' and carrying a wagon would hardly be serious. She felt bad that Giggles couldn't come with because it was much to difficult to carry a fishbowl through the thick doors and scanners while carrying him. Oh well, she would be sure to tell him all about it when they came back, even if he couldn't (or wouldn't) respond back to her. This was big stuff, and the fishie was going to know about it, no matter what.
Pip followed his trainer, barely keeping up on his stubby little legs. As he hobbled, the Pokemon was puzzled by this meeting. While she was changing, Giggles was discretely whispering to him, telling the cactus how relieved he was that he wasn't coming with this time. Pip was a little shocked by this, for he knew the Feebas's ambitions on ruling the world or whatever. Why wouldn't he want to meet the head of the Pravus, the company that he was trying so hard to destroy. <<He's an idiot with strong pokemon,>> the fish had said bluntly, <<He is not of my concern.>>
Pip looked up at Maiya. “What do you think the president wants?” he asked, shaking off that thought of Giggles. Damn fish creeped him out. “What if it's not a good thing, like you're hoping for?”
Maiya blinked. She didn't think of that. Maybe she did do something bad, bad enough to get President Winstonson to be mad at her. “I don't know what he wants,” she said slowly, “but at least we get to skip today's check up, right?”
“True,” Pip nodded. “What are you going to do when you get in there?”
“I was thinking that I'm going to salute, and then say 'HEIL PRAVUS' all loud like, and then listen to what he says,” Maiya responded, a goofy smile plastered on her face. “Does that sound okay?”
The cactus put his hand over his eyes. “Sweet Arceus, please don't.”
“Can I still salute? I've been practicing”
“Uh, I guess you can...”
“Yay!”
-x-
After navigating through the grand entrance, somehow the two of them managed to get to the office section of the central area. Granted that they got lost once or twice, since Maiya had only traveled as far as the library. Eventually they found someone who didn't completely ignore them, trusting enough to believe a kid when she said that she needed to find the President's office. That or, as Pip thought, they just wanted the kid out of their hair. Now the office was directly in front of them, impatiently waiting for them to come inside.
Maiya stared at the doorknob, swallowing quietly. “I'm nervous, Pip.”
Pip smiled, and pointed at the door, hearing the muffled sounds of Gri-Gri inside. “You'll be fine. Here that? Sounds like someone is excited to see you.”
“Hnn...” she swallowed again. The girl slowly grabbed the handle, turning it gently. Once she got a full view of the inside, she stared at the Pravus president. Well, he was a whole lot less scary than Maiya thought he was going to be. She glanced over to the Emowhale, who was sitting...a kiddy pool? Her eyes lit up, the corners of her lips turned upwards. ”This place is...SO COOL!”Oh, wait. Coming into an office to just stare was a little rude. She raised her hand to salute the man (and his Grista) while saying in a very serious voice,
“Sir! You requested to see me, sir?”

Winston waited patiently as the door opened, his face completely serious, even as the little girl began to 'lose composure,' though she gained it right back, completing her greeting with a salute, and something he would have heard out of someone incredibly nervous. Though the girl was small and young, she seemed to have a sort of maturity about her.
It might have just been the attempt at a pin straight stance and a salute in a girl so young, but it made Winston crack a small smile. He could not help himself, but granted himself only that much.
Gri-gri, on the other hand, could not hold any composure, and bounded forward, straight for the girl, tongue lolling, greeting ready.
"Gri-gri! Sit!"
At the command, the Grista tried her best to stop, but ended up skidding across the waxed, linoleum floor.
"OHNOEEEEES!"
She skidded to a halt in front of Maiya, maybe a few centimeters from the girl's ankles, luckily for all of them.
"Hihihihihihihihihi!" she said, eyes staring up at the girl, and immediately she began to sniff the air around the both of them, as if trying to figure out what this girl smelled like. She smelled... poisonous, but friendly.
"Maiya," Winston started, the look on his face still as serious as ever, "I did want to speak with you."
He stood up, his armor right along with him. Right now, he looked like a well-armored man who had quite an issue maneuvering inside such large material, even if he did have it for quite a long time.
He maneuvered around his desk, approaching the girl as best he could. The office echoed with his clunking as he tried to do so, and, even though he seemed a bit clumsy, his pace was a little faster than what one would expect out of a large, armored knight.
As he stopped in front of her, he attempted to place a hand on her shoulder... well, a flipper anyways. He tried to get across that he was not a horrible person, nor was he ready to accept a salute from such a young member, whether she was about to get this promotion or not.
"Maiya, I have a few things to talk to you about... if that's alright with you of course."
He gestured towards the other side of his office, opposite from Emo-mo, where there were a couple of cute little armchairs and a table in between them. On the table was a small plate of pastries and cookies, and a pot of some sort of steaming liquid next to that.
"Come, sit. I've had hot chocolate and cookies prepared just for this occasion."

Maiya kept her very stoic face, staring directly at Winston. The only way she could stay like this was to pretend she was Mr. Nigma, who looked serious, like, all the time. It all seemed like very very serious business, being a president, they always looked all businesslike. Well, she could play that game too- just watch! As long as she remained focused, that is.
And all that focus disappeared at the site of Gri-Gri, the adorable puppy that looked as if she wanted to tackle the two of them with happiness and friendliness and..well, you get the idea. The morph fell out of her serious face and was grinning from ear to ear, ready to run over and give the thing a big hug, but well, Winston's command seemed to make her want to sit too. She let out a giggle when Gri-Gri slid across the floor yelling. It was even harder to resist the Grista when she was just sitting their looking up at her. “Hi hi,” Maiya said, with a little wave.
However, the Cacnea beside her had a totally different reaction. Pip had a look of pure terror when the Grista, aka fire puppy of pure danger, came rushing towards them. Sure, call him paranoid, but think about it. One stray ember and he would be up in flames, and as much as Giggles would probably enjoy that, he preferred to flee from that possibility. Problem was, he couldn't run away, and that dog was coming closer and closer, tongue flapping around like it spotted a chew toy. It seemed like their could only be one safe spot in the entire room, so he took it without hesitation. Funny thing was, that safe spot was right behind Maiya who he was planning on using as his human shield. “Guess this isn't very classy hiding behind a little girl...” He thought, weakly exhaling as he peaked through the opening in her legs.
Both of them seemed to tilt their head a little at Winston. Maiya assumed that the president was a pokemorph because of all the Empoleon similarities, and hell, it seems that scientists only did stuff that related to morphs lately. However, Winston seemed very shiny for a pokemorph which was weird, even for a steel type. Plus, the way he was moving was kind of awkward; did they mess up? That would be bad, messing up a pokemorph surgery on the most important person in Pravus. Was he making clunking sounds? That was a little weird, but she only looked mildly puzzled. Maiya was more or less concerned that she might be in trouble for something seeing how Winston still looked very humorless.
“Um, so...” she paused as he put his flipper on her shoulder explaining that he did have stuff to talk about. Hopefully it was good stuff. He directed her to the other side of the room, where a couple of adorable chairs which had... hot chocolate and cookies? Her face brightened almost instantly. With an astounded voice she said, “Really? Hot chocolate and cookies for me?”
She giddly moved to the chairs, plopping down in one eagerly, grabbing a cookie. Pip reluctantly followed, starting to realize why Giggles did not want to come. This was a little bit ridiculous, the president having sweets with some dangerous kid. This was probably some kind of political stunt, showing that Pravus is not full of evil jerks. Now if only he could find the hidden camera...
“So, sir, what do you want to talk about?” She asked, staring up at him.
((The flu is messing with my brain or something, I swear. XD))

Winston, of course, kept his calm and serious demeanor, not wanting to spook the poor child into thinking that she was in trouble, or that he was going to punish her for something absolutely minor. But, that was not the point of this meeting, and he was going to prove it to her.
As he watched her sit down in one of the large chairs, he motioned towards Gri-gri, who bounded forward and, tongue lolling, went to take a seat at Maiya's feet.
"Only the best for my top members," Winston said, a small smile finally cracking his serious disposition as he made his way over, and took a seat across from Maiya, crossing his legs, as if he were in any other casual conversation with any other random person. He leaned forward, taking one of the small, fancy cups and pouring himself some of the hot, chocolatey liquid that was in the pot. He then snapped his fingers.
A pair of large, bat-like wings popped out from behind Winston's chair in response, followed closely by what looked to be a Cubone's skull, or something to that extent. The eyes inside the sockets were a deep purple, not as sinister as the rest of the Cubok's sinuous body that followed suite.
"Yes, Master Winston?"
The voice was pure velvet, if velvet had a sound anyways. She seemed much more elegant than her exterior let on, and, as she slowly slithered out from behind the chair and onto Winston's lap, she gave a slow, lazy blink as if she were indeed just as elegant, and no one was deserving of her time.
But she was answering to the President, who, though down in the ranks of the grunts had an iron reputation and a cold demeanor, was far from what that reputation was.
Winston attempted to, as elegantly and professionally as he could, arrange himself and his rather large Cubok so that he was not overwhelmed by the snake's massively long body.
The Cubok did not seem to mind this, as her gaze went from Winston right over to the young girl sitting across from them.
"Could you help Ms. Maiya here with her hot chocolate?" the President asked. The large creature did not verbally answer; instead opting for slithering off of the lap of her master and slowly onto the floor, where she slithered towards Maiya.
"Ms. Maiya," she started slowly, "Would you like some marshmallows in your hot chocolate?"
She did not wait outright for an answer, coiling a part of her large body around the pot of hot chocolate, and pouring it into the other cup. It was only when she set the pot down again did she give Maiya a curious look.
"This is Bach, Maiya," Winston said, "She's quite a conversation once you get right down to it... but unfortunately, we will have to leave conversing with Bach for another time..."
He smiled once more, and took a sip from his cup.
"I had a few things to discuss... About your position in Pravus mostly..."
He set the cup down on the table, and gave Maiya a rather serious look.
"Are you aware that squads are being made from some of the more competent members?"
