Click. Clack. Click.
The footsteps of Michael Desatio's overpriced dress shoes thumped in a simple two-step rhythm as he paced. For a man would couldn't sweat, a man who wouldn't blink twice with guns and magmortar flamethrowers pointed at his head, you'd think that nothing would make him nervous.
Click. Clack. Click. Clack.
But yet his footsteps, usually feathery and light, were clapping heavily against the tile, nervous at the meeting's results.
"You know," Dhanus mused coolly, "You're actually heavy enough to damage the floor if you're not careful."
Michael shot him a quick glare. "What does a temple rock know about linoleum? I've got every right to pace nervously. And if the floor takes a hit, serves 'em right."
Zinn didn't move, but spoke softly. "Serves who? Your superiors deserve to buy a new floor?"
"My superiors should have let me in the briefing," he said matter-of-factly. "My idea, my proposal, and I have to wait to see if it gets funding."
"It's your rank. You are the one who said you wanted to work with field research," Zinn said, speaking paternalistically.
Alpharabius just smiled. "At least you make a good metronome. And besides, it's not the news that's worrying you."
Zinn blinked--not something Zinn did more than once a month, usually. "Do all of you know something the rest of us don't, Alpharabius?" He said, eying the Eggs' grins with interest.
Desatio didn't miss a beat and kept pacing. He did laugh, though. "HA! Then what am I nervous about?"
Al, the largest of the eggs began. "It isn't the message, it's the messenger."
Desatio blinked, knowing where this argument was going. He kept pacing."My promise to Sackeim is running on this funding."
The eggs nodded while a few more joined in. "Yes, but we both know the funding acceptance is inevitable, you knew that when you wrote the proposal. These people won't turn down weapons research. You're worried about her, and you know it," the eggs finished, adding both unison and emphasis on the word "her."
Desatio would've blushed, if he still had the capacity. "Now...wait just a minute!" He stammered. "If that's the case, then why haven't I said a thing about her? Why have I been working non-stop on this thing, without even a hint of nerve until today?"
Zinn chuckled. "You've been a nervous wreck since Thursday. When you found out you couldn't work unsupervised. I thought you were just worried about the project being hi-jacked or modified, but I think the Eggs are right," Zinn smiled as the Eggs nodded.
Sackeim happily fiddled around on the computer, really not caring since he already knew it was going to be approved. How could they turn down the project? Even if the suit was rendered useless after commission, the trials and data would allow for further upgrades and retrofits, possibly even human exoskeletons.
Desatio sighed. "Is that so horrible? I like her. Now shut up about it," he mumbled, continuing to pace.
The Exeggcute giggled. "If you'd quit undressing her with your eyes and listened to her when she entered the room, you'd realize that she's both trustworthy and friendly. With her, it's about merit, and she respects skill and talent, not rank."
"Now wait just a minute! I'll admit I think she's cute, but that doesn't mean I will compromise my duties," he said with a glare, turning towards them as if to make some grandiose speech. "I don't care HOW good looking my superior officers are, I'm still a professional, and you need to respect that or remain quiet," he said matter-of-factly. "I'm not in this for a lonely night snuggling up to my lab partner, I'm here to keep my word, fringe benefits aside."
What Michael Desatio failed to notice is that the door opened during his last diatribe. Zinn simply returned to meditating. The Exeggcute bounced towards the now open door, and Desatio turned, not looking embarrassed although he felt like his blood was about to boil and his heart might implode after saying that.
Out loud.
With a witness.
He could really use a scotch about now...and maybe a prayer.

Mizu'mii let out a groan mentally. As the meeting was coming to an end, the people looked over at her and a devious smirk came upon their faces. Her eyebrow went up in such a questionable manner she had nothing else to do but chuckle a bit to herself.
"Only you guys would have something devilish up your sleeve. Might as well tell me now before I have to find out forcefully.
She spoke with such a regal tone, she wasn't in the mood for them not to tell her. She already had to supervise this, it wasn't a problem it was just that she just didn't like it when people played around. Sure she would have signed for funding but the whole supervision idea made it sound like she'd have to babysit the man. She knew the details but it wasn't worth the extra details. She messed with the pencil in her hand running it through her hair and gazing at her Pokemon. The Lopunny stood besides her still, listening to all the details she could, and the Flareon had the privilege to sit on the table.
"It's nothing Ma'am. Just excited that you would compromise so easily, I thought it would take more. "
"Quit you're blabbering. You've already made me think I need to see a shrink, but now I feel that I'm fine I am capable of handling this. Bunni I hope you're taking good mental notes as my witness to the rest of my tolerance and sanity..."
She nodded and Tsuki turned around towards Mizu'mii and hopped in her lap. As Mizu'mii began to pet Tsuki she held her and got up. Bunni faced Mizu'mii and held the papers she was ordered to hold. For a while though, she knew she would end up falling and dropping them and yet she was still holding them tightly to her now.
"This meeting is now over. Go back to your duties and I will handle Desatio. Like now...GO!" she ordered for them to go. She took a sigh and as they left she came out to face the man. Bunni's ears pricked, she heard something the man had said but was it her place to tell Mizu'mii what the man said? She looked at the man and his Pokemon. Bunni chuckled to herself and blushed. {"What's so dang on funny Rabbit?"} Bunni leaned down and whispered what she had just heard. Tsuki gasped and looked at Mizu'mii and then the man.
Mizu'mii too flustered to know what the Pokemon were talking about, she pretended she didn't hear a thing. She looked at Desaito and regained her composure to look more sophisticated and in a business-formal tone she spoke, " I'm sure you know about me watching you for the duration of this project and in the Lab you have full funding and you are required to lead in this operation if you must. And to add, I order you not to go overboard and do something that will injure you."

Desatio felt his blood pressure rise and his head heard that little voice that's screaming at him in panicked tones to the effect that he had just royally, and totally, blown it. How much did she hear? He honestly couldn't read her very well, and it was obvious that she was trying hard not to be read. Was she upset, angry? Or was she she just surprised. Maybe even pleasantly surprised? Yeah, right. Because every girl wants a half-dead bandage-coated therapist with commitment issues with a penchant for bar brawls, old books, and older bottles of scotch. He then realized that he had somewhat zoned out as she talked, too busy psychoanalyzing her to actually listen to what she said. He had picked up on a few thoughts, though.
"Glad the boys upstairs realized this project was worth the greenlight. Sorry you're stuck supervising me, but I don't get to write the rules. Better than having to hold the hand of some clueless drone, though," he said, putting one hand behind the back of his head and smiling weakly. "At least I know what I'm doing, with help from Sackeim and the lads here."
The computer burbled cheerily, Sackeim's voice coming out of it. "Give her the drive, she'll need it."
Desatio nodded and pull a flash drive on a metal chain out of his pocket. "This puppy has all the schematics that are currently implemented, as well as a long list of things we don't have supply-wise. Unfortunately, we may have to discreetly pool soem man pwoer from an army squad to steal certain commodities taht we can't by, such as the dynamo rods and reactive molecular magnetic generators," he said with a sigh.
Honestly, he tried his best to get the blueprints less cluttered than Sackeim's original sketches, but they were still rather complicated and heavy. Not that She needed dumbing down on it, but he didnt' want to make her spend too much time on it.
"Frankly, I owe you some credit on the initial design for the levitation engines. Your paper on electro-magnetic repulsion for levitation as shown by magnet-type pokemon was actually the primary building block for the design, save for the substantially smaller scale of proportions."
"The other program you'll find on that hard drive is decryption software. Until we're out of the testing phase, I'd prefer to use an encryption code not used in Pravus currently. We recently had an intel leak about one of our Experimental hardware components in the air force, and I would hate to lose my work should someone else make a mistake."
He frowned as he realized what he just said. "Not that I'm doubting the integrity of the lab's security, or anything like that. It's just that as much as I understand you have to keep an eye on me, I want that to be it." He shook his head. Now it sounded like he was just trying to drag her into this for kicks, like he was stalking her or something.
"Not that I'm trying to get alone with you especially or anything....not that being alone with you would be bad or anything....I'm just saying, the more people know about project DULLAHAN, the more likely we are to get interference, both from internal and external forces, and then I'm gonna have to end up dealing with more B.S. from my other superiors than I really want," he said, finally getting back to coherency. "You thirsty? I seriously needs some tea right about now...." with that, he put out a small tea Kettle next to the coffee pot on a small range, and smiled weakly.
He then recalled something else she said. "Hurt myself? Not likely. However, when we do live-fire exercises, we're going to need to find suitable targets of exceptional durability."

As she was talking she couldn’t help to feel that his mind was somewhere else. Like possibly he was too excited about the project and he could finally do something with this project and get it moving. If you asked Mizu’mii she really wanted something to do, and this’ll be new to her. She was used to working with weapons but not robotic weapons powered by a Pokémon. She couldn’t help but to smile at the man. It was adorable. Then again anything destructive was adorable to her. “Supervising you is no issue. I know you’re a respectable man, and not some immature child so I’m okay with this. Really.” Tsuki looked at the Pokémon and Bunni took notice to the talking computer. She gasped and flinched when it talked. Mizu’mii then had to explain to her it was just Rotom, an Electric-Ghost Pokémon. Her Pokémon haven’t been out and exploring in a long time so it would be natural that some of her Pokémon wouldn’t know some Pokémon. As she retrieved the flash drive she was glad finally someone, just someone decided to fill her in and think things thoroughly . This brought her mood up, at any moment she could giggle like a young school girl. “Man power wouldn’t be hard. That’s what lab grunts are for. They’ll go get it. If anything items aren’t a problem here, I always get my machines. “ She blushed at the fact he credited her. Someone made something useful out of her little experiments how thoughtful. It was a while ago but not years. “Oh that thing… I’m glad it benefited for someone actually. I get very bored at times.” "The other program you'll find on that hard drive is decryption software. Until we're out of the testing phase, I'd prefer to use an encryption code not used in Pravus currently. We recently had an intel leak about one of our Experimental hardware components in the air force, and I would hate to lose my work should someone else make a mistake." “Oh okay. Understandable. Most of my codes were actually made when I was younger.” Tsuki nodded on the comment it was true. Most of the gibberish is actually some girly-code Mizu’mii made up when she was younger, usually consisting of two similar languages. Her eye twitched for a moment at his comments he was rambling, she thought it was funny but it did weird her out at times. She smiled and cocked her head to the side a little, this was sure to be some fun. She couldn’t wait.

Desatio nodded, still rather cheerful. "Yeah, in all honesty, this is not my field of specialization, and Sackeim's done more of the design implementation," he said with a shrug. "I'm always open to suggestions and retrofits. I mean, you've built more weapons than I have, although the internal systems are something almost entirely new. The only expert I've seen on the subject was a Magnemite-training inventor who spent ten years building strange engines in an abandoned power-plant before a massive accident occurred," he said with a surprisngly amount of tranquility. The fact of the matter was that the last thing he was afraid of was beign hurt on the job.
Dhanus would have sighed if he had the lungs. if this fool doesn't ask her out, we'll have to intervene, he telepathically prompted both Zinn and Alpharabius.
Zinn said nothing, but seemed to give off a sense of assent. Desatio just dismissed it as him acting like something was up to bother him. "Regardless, we should proceed with caution. However, we have already field-tested a prototype that wasn't mentioned in the proposal," he said as he slowly got up, turning and heading towards the table. "I'll show you the basics."
Dhanus decided that he was fed up with it. He focused two small invisible movements of telekinesis, the first was simply to prod him on the shoulder, turning him around. The second was a push in front of this woman's leg. One catch, and at least he'd stop being so awkward.
Alpharabius was also in position, briefly prodding Desatio's mind to extend a hand as he turned around, so that catching her would be easy. This was simple enough.
Zinn resisted giggling, but did jump out of the computer and waft over to the table as if nothing happened. Zinn didn't move in the slightest, betraying no sign of having seen this coming except towards Desatio, who saw it in his eyes.

She had a nice time talking with Desaito though something about him seemed so mysterious. He intrigued her; it was like a new toy, or a new shiny object that caught her eye. However, he was different so having this guy around and she might have found a new friend. Being the Head Scientist wasn’t all fun and games especially when your superiors despise you and most people forced to go through a transformation hate you and people seeking plastic surgery love you. It was tough, but worth it.
“So it seems, I get bored and always have this tendency to make weapons but that’s just me. Plus it’s my job to bring havoc on this world to gain peace.” He then mentioned something about an accident involving the other inventor, and she did remember that day, too bad. There was less competition anyways and it would help Pravus if she would’ve taken some ideas and theories from him but she did not credit them as hers. She gave respect to any ideas hoping they give the respect back and today Desaito proved that to her. She hoped for no injuries on this experiment. She didn’t want to become the plastic surgeon again without fee.
Bunni wasn’t paying any mind to Desaito’s Pokémon though she was looking at Mizu’mii. Tsuki didn’t pay attention to anyone besides Bunni. It was a chain of glares and stares but she couldn’t help but feel something was going to go wrong. magenta] “Ah, so you have at least tried it. I would like to see.” she said as she looked closer towards what Desaito was doing. Suddenly, she felt a force push her leg to the side loosing her balance, it felt as if time slowed down and she didn’t have a clue. Bunni and Tsuki gazed at their trainer and attempted to help but everything was moving so slow. What’s going on? I’m falling? I never trip…
Time seemed to have it’s way with falling over. It felt like forever ago when her feet both were on the ground and now she was falling now way of catching herself but time, it slowed down the process.

Michael simply nodded at the woman's comments as he turned towards her. "Well if you get any ideas, feel free to mention them..." He then noticed her fall and caught her with one arm, unintentionally draggin her on top of him and breaking her fall. "You alright?" He asked as he got up rather quickly and nervously, stamemring slightly as he led her towrds a chair. "Sorry, figured the body-block would be the best way to break your fall," he said, quickly putting the hand that was around her waist a minute ago back behind his head and smiling weakly.
Alright, he thought to himself quickly, someone in this room is setting me up....but which one of them? I'm certain that was a psychic move, so which of the three? I doubt one of her pokemon is tryign to pull this. That'd just be crazy. Besides, I doubt any of them would want to set up a sweet woman like her with ugly half-dead mug like me.
Alpharabius sensed his thoughts, and quickly aimed to distract him from thinking too hard about it. "Graceful move, boss," the eggs said in unison.
Michael just shrugged. "What I didn't learn in boxing I learned in ballroom dance class," he said with a chuckle. He decided to save the interrogation for alter, he didn't want to make out his pokemon to be bad guys. The question was why they did it, that was what bothered him.
Zinn simply focused his thoughts to Michael's head. show the woman your prototype, and ask if she's hungry. We've got food in the mini-fridge.
Michael simply nodded. "Sackeim, please enter the prototype. We can do a quick dry run of the basics."
Sackeim just chuckled as e wafted over to a desk. "Like you'd wanna do a wet run with me in the room, big guy," he said with a smirk as he leaped into a shelf in a desk, the drawer opening off it's own accord as a singe hand floated out of it, wafting towards the two of them and stopping about a foot away.
"With our current supplies, this mock-up of a hand was about all I could do," Mike said with a smile. "On the upside, it's pretty spiffy, and the technique is all rather good and well. Care for a demonstration?"

She heard him and was about to mention something as she fell but was soon stopped as he caught her and broke the fall. She stood up and dusted herself off a bit and her Pokémon rushed to her side. She gave a smile, “It’s okay, I’m fine really. Thank you for catching me at such an unfortunate event…” she said gazing downwards at his Pokémon. The Pokémon seemed like they kenw something she didn’t, she had a hunch but it couldn’t possibly be true. This was a co-worker we’re talking about and a inferior status no less. Regardless that those things wouldn’t be a problem for her the hunch was strong as she was used to these kidns of feelings. But the Pokémon were up to something and she wanted to know but if Tsuki or Bunni found out about anything they would tell her. She wasn’t trying to assume anything out loud really but his Pokémon looked oddly suspicious. She sat down in the chair, and looked up at him. “Yeah, I’m fine. I still thank you for breaking my fall. I don’t know what I would have done if I had broke any of my bones. Probably self-surgery…” she spoke in her graceful tone. She really was thankful he caught her; she wasn’t the type to be falling all over the places breaking something, or someone’s limb. At least Desaito was a gentleman.
“He took ballroom dance and boxing? What a man…” she thought in her mind as she was listening to him speak. Tsuki began to glare deeply at the Pokémon wondering whether she could set them on fire now or later. But she didn’t want to bother with them now so she left them and hopped onto Mizu’mii’s lap staring at Desaito carefully. Bunni looked at his Pokémon carefully, ‘Was the Rotom a part of the project? How could such a Pokémon operate like this? Maybe this will be worth the watching.’ she thought in her head before glancing back to Mizu’mii who was now pulling out her laptop from her back pack. This one was the travel-side laptop, small enough to hold all kinds of files and yet powerful enough to run a course of action all the way through. She just wanted a talking laptop now and it’ll be perfect.
“May I add that I have these files downloading onto my computer I would at least like to know when you edit your information… You see I prefer to keep old information and just add new ones instead of replacing it. I’m not sure if you feel the same way but this is so I can figure out problems easier.”
“I would love to see a demonstration. I wouldn’t have any questions till I see something I wouldn’t be to sure about.” she patted Tsuki and Bunni hopped over towards her handing her the papers she was holding. She nodded a ‘thank you’ to the rabbit Pokémon and as Bunni sat down besides her on the floor watching the crazy man and his Pokémon Mizu’mii placed Tsuki on the ground replacing her with the laptop opening the files where she had originally stored the information she had received from him. She began typing up some information that included the date and time, and what was about to happen.

Desatio just kind of nodded. "No problem, and yeah, that was rather...unfortunate...." he said, shooting a glance across the pokemon in the room. "And unforutnately, I'm not certain which one of them should apologize to you." he said as he locked eyes with Zinn.
Zinn didn't move or flinch. He didn't even open his eyes. "You make it sound as if the intent behind the action was malicious. It is a conspiracy, but not against her."
Michael blinked. "Wait. You think that tripping a woman isn't an aggressive act?"
Zinn shook his head. "It was aggressive as an action. But it's intention was not cause harm to her. At least, that is not the intention I perceived. It wasn't my action," he said as he left it at that. His head then turned a solid 180 degrees locking on the obviously perturbed flareon. "I know you're bothered by all this stupidity, but don't jump to fighting. It accomplishes nothing in this case." With that, he cracked his neck and returned to his lotus posture.
"Zinn, mind your manners or you'll be meditating with a pair of cement shoes," Desatio said with a mutter.
As if on cue to break the tension, the desk drawer opened, a floating glove coming out if and waft cheerily. "So what're we gonna test? And how?"
Dhanus jsut looked at them all smugly.
Alpharabius rattled cheerfully all his eggs humming a cheery tune.
Michael decided that was all he was going to get for the moment and went back to work. "Alright, let's start with reflex testing, okay Sackeim?" And with that, he took a stress-ball off of his desk and threw it in the general direction, which the floating glove quickly darted and caught.

She gazed at his Pokemon as if he knew what was going on. For once in a while, she could not quite catch what was going on right now. She hesitantly looked at Bunni, "I'm sure you don't know what's going on do you?" she mumbled under her breath to her. Bunni's ears pricked and she looked and Mizu'mii shifting her head from side to side in a negative reply. "Apologize? You mean to tell me you're Pokemon are behind this? And that they have been plotting my death this whole time?" she said in a bit worried, but humorous tone of voice. She wouldn't think that his Pokemon would try to make such an accident. Tsuki was calmed over now, she wasn't as hot as before but she was a bit twitchy and worried about the Pokemon now. What if they cause another accident around Mizu'mii and Desaito putting their safety at risk? She couldn't tolerate it and kept a close eye on the Pokemon.
"What other equipment is needed for this experiment? So I can keep a stock check in my head knowing those grunts wouldn't keep proper track all the time. Just like a quick rundown of things. And feel free to explain as you go." she said petting Tsuki to maybe have her relax and to make sure that she fully understand what was needed, what was he doing and how to enhance something just in case she felt it would need to be updated with something more complex or reduced to a more simpler state.
Bunni looked at Desaito and tried to make her words understandable without stuttering. "Um...excuse me... Are you sure that this...this is safe...? This is beneficial for Pravus I presume yeah?" Mizu'mii was taken aback by such actions. She looked over to the Lopunny with a confused yet proud look on her face. Bunni has never spoken out loud without a yes or no from Mizu'mii. And she asked the person who was doing the experiment and not just Mizu'mii. Maybe her reclusive behavior is recessing who knew?
"Bunni deary, of course this is beneficial to Pravus. And no one should be harmed otherwise it isn't beneficial." She said looking up and petting her ear to make calm that nervous itch she had when she spoke to others.
Bunni looked at Mizu'mii and nodded with satisfaction that she would ask any questions that she had. If not Bunni would most likely do something stupid that would interfere with the project thus which could ultimately fail at hand. Mizu'mii was not taking any chances with her Pokemon messing this up, though her Pokemon were normally well behaved she was not sure about Desaito's Pokemon. And once again, if they tried to do something to Mizu'mii and Desaito again who knows what the next conclusion could be. She glanced at the floating glove which caught her attention and the stress ball remind her of her own, except her stress ball was in the shape of a Bidoof for her own reasons.

Zinn shook his head. "Killing? I can assure no one was in any danger. This wasn't recklessness, it was a plan," he said to no oen in particular.
"And the point of the plan?" Desatio said as he threw the ball with precise speed, watching as Sackeim's floating glove quickly dived into position to catch it before it hit the floor.
Zinn chuckled. "Sometimes you're really...oblivious. Yeah that's the word."
Michael groaned and shrugged. "Only when my opponents are those closest to me. It's hard not to assume the worst."
He then nodded at Mizu'Mii's question. "In all fairness, we're going to need large amounts of technetium and phosphorus, as those are the chief electroreative alloys require for movement. But, for the....secondary prototype, we're going to need cesium and molybdenum."
He then nodded at Bunny's question. "Admittedly, the initial prototype will be all but useless. You were astute to catch that. But once we pull out of the testing phase, we'll be able to built combat-ready models that run on either psychic, ectoplasmic, or electrical energy fields. That allows us a great deal of flexibility in designing highly modular combat suits that can be deployed in the field should one of our operatives suddenly need more combative firepower."
