Although she looks young and innocent, well, she is pretty innocent, Shey is every bit a young woman who is out to change the world.
Personal Related Information:
Personality: Shey sees the world in black and white. There are the good people, and the bad people. Once she places you in a category, it is very hard to change her mind. I guess you could call her stubborn, but it is more apt to say that changing Shey’s mind is like trying to get a running Linoone to turn corners without stopping. If she labels you a good person, she is your friend for life, defending you until the end, helping you at every opportunity. But if you are labeled a bad person, fear for your life. She wants to take revenge on all these bad people for the deaths of her parents, Pokémon, brother, and everyone else who has suffered. Mewtwo is the enemy, Parvus is disgusted, and anyone she finds wanting is ignored or defiled.
Now onto the subject of Shey’s overall outlook. While she may seem like a Girl Scout taken to the extreme, Shey just wants to try and make something good out of the horrible events that led to her to join the Rangers. Making something good out of bad is how Shey gets through each day, fighting the pain of loss with the joy of success. In that respect, failure of any kind affects Shey much more than most other people. She becomes depressed for days, needing support from her Pokémon and her friends to pull herself from the depths of memories. While Shey tries to look on the deaths of her family with happiness at the good times, she is motivated largely by revenge, and can’t help but be depressed at times over the tragedies.
With Pokémon or friends, Shey is happy, sometimes a bit sarcastic, and loves to mother, making sure everyone is warm, well fed, and has everything they need. Even though she is only 17, she calls men many years older boys, calls almost everyone kids or child. Her Pokemon are beloved younger siblings, best friends and comrades. Although Shey wants to catch as many Pokemon as possible, she doesn’t want to take Pokemon who are frightened or scared of being captured. She looks at each mission, Pokemon, friend, or enemy as a personal challenge she has to overcome to the best of her ability.
History:
Shey’s life was happy, nurturing, fun, safe, loving, all those good adjectives for the first years of her life. She lived with her parents and older brother in a small town in South Remoor. Her parents, Bill and Heather, were both breeders, and always made sure that their children were comfortable in the company of Pokemon. Shey knew she wanted to work with Pokemon from the very beginning. Even before she was allowed to have her own Pokemon, Shey and her brother, Devin, would have mock Pokemon battles, wrestling and chasing each other all over the family breeding farm. She did well in school, but always wanted to be outside playing with her parent’s Pokemon instead of cooped up inside learning.
When she turned 10, Shey was gifted with her very first Pokemon, a Nidoran Female she named Lorri. Shey and Lorri traveled a bit in the surrounding countryside of her parent’s house, challenging everyone they could find. Needless to say, Lorri quickly grew stronger and after a few years was an accomplished Nidoqueen. But then, when Shey was 15, everything began falling apart. Her brother, who had left to travel on his own, was reported missing in one of the increasingly frequent clashes between the two sides of the war. The girl was devastated. Her brother was her best friend, her confidant, closer to her than even her Pokemon or her parents, despite the 3 year age difference between the two. But Shey slowly got over the heartbreak with the help of Lorri and the other Pokemon on the farm. The war continued to escalate, and then the apocalypse came. The battle between the two sides that destroyed much of Remoor did not pass by the farm peacefully, but instead tore it apart, destroying everything, making the quiet family house into a pile of rubble indistinguishable from any other crater in the ruined landscape of Southern Remoor. The destruction wiped out the town, the house, Shey’s parents, and most of the Pokemon. Lorri shielded Shey from the falling rubble, but was gravely injured in the attack and died shortly afterwards.
The loss of her parents devastated Shey, but it was the death of Lorri that completely destroyed the girl. Shey was found by the other survivors of the town huddled next to the body of her mighty Nidoqueen, unconscious. When she woke, Shey said nothing, only sat there, staring off into space. The townspeople did there best to try and rebuild after the destruction, and Shey recovered somewhat over the next few days. She still did not say a word. One day, she slipped off to the remains of her childhood home. The bodies had been taken away and buried at that point, so all that was left was the trashed and burned remnants of all the memories and good times. Shey was picking through the rubble when she spotted a flash of silver in all the brown and black of destruction. It was a little Sneasel, injured but still alive. The girl quickly collected the only other survivor from the farm and ran back to the town, shouting for help, speaking for the first time in days.
Over the following months Shey recovered slowly from all the death and destruction, just as the Sneasel recovered. Unfortunately, the Sneasel had to be left behind when Shey and the townspeople moved on, out of the shattered remains of their homes. The departure was very difficult for Shey. The townspeople, along with Shey, moved to a large city, in sort of a refugee camp, where Shey heard about the Rangers. The organization, dedicated to rebuilding Remoor, appealed to the idealistic Shey. She wanted to help people recover from the disasters that had befallen the Remoor region. After a little while of training, Shey was inducted into the Ranger ranks, receiving her first Pokemon, a Treecko. She has since caught a few more, traveling about, helping people rebuild Remoor and battling the evil forces of Mewtwo and Pravus
Characters Pokemon:
Name: Katana Species: (Fem) Grovyle Age: 3 Level: 30 Exp: 1062/1750 Ability: Overgrow~Kat's Grass attacks get stronger when her HP is low. Personality: Katana, Kat for short, is strong fearless, never gives up. Even though she is the youngest of the trio, Kat is strong and experienced in battle, moreso than the others on Shey's team. But again, as the youngest on her team, Kat is pretty inexperienced in the ways of life. While she can rock out the battlefield, Kat is always being distracted by new things, exploring without a care for her own safety. As they say, curiosity killed the Kat!
Attacks: Leaf Blade Pursuit Screech Quick Attack Dragon breath Brick Break Protect
Name: Raikiri Species: (Male) Manectric Age: 5 Level: 26 EXP: 0/1550 Ability: Static~Don't touch Rai, or you'll get paralyzed! Personality: Raikiri is the oldest of the three, although not by much. He is also the most street smart, having lived right in the midst of many of the battles before the apocalypse. Because of his rare coloration, Rai was sought after by many different trainers, which gave him a healthy aversion to most of the species. But Shey used her insane stubbornness to overcome Rai's lofty attitudes and win the crafty Manectric over to her side.
Attacks: Spark Flame Thrower Thunder Wave Double Team Shock Wave Toxic Quick Attack Leer
Name: Semi Species: (Male) Rhyhorn Age: 2 Level: 26 EXP: 705/1550 Ability: Rock Head~Semi takes no damage from those pesky recoil attacks. Personality: Semi was named for the fact that when he hits someone, it is like being hit by a massively heavy 18-wheeler. While Semi is definitely not the brightest bulb that was ever lit, he knows how to battle, using straightforward tactics to bulldoze his opponents into submission. He protects his girl, Shey with all of his massively mighty strength, even though he may not understand exactly what is going on. Sometimes Semi is about 5 minutes behind the conversation, a fact that Shey finds hilarious.
Attacks: Stomp Rock Blast Scary Face Ice Beam Thunderbolt Dragon Rush Fury Attack Hidden Power (Dark)
Nickname: Willow Species: Dusknoir Gender: Male Age: 34 Personality: Willow is a very calm and cool Pokemon and is extremely wise. He'll mostly stay out of fights between J.J.'s Pokemon and will only ever break them up. He is like the father of the group and would much rather sit down with a book than fight. He will fight if necessary though. Mostly when J.J. is in trouble. All and all, he is a decent Pokemon but you wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
After J.J.'s death, Willow has become even more withdrawn, even though the bouncy Kat keeps trying to get him to join into her games and plots. Level: 80 Experience: 0/4250 Attacks:
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Shadow Punch
- Will-o-wisp
- Pain Split
- Psychic
- Gravity
Nickname: Klunk Species: Groundstam Gender: Male Age: 1 Personality: Klunk is your typical Groundstam, stubborn beyond all reasoning. In fact, the way Shey met Klunk was when the Groundstam decided to attack in typical boy fashion to try and show off to a lady friend. Him and Kat ended up getting into an argument that continues to this day. No one really remembers what the argument was about, as it has long since dissolved into “I’m right!” “No, I’m right!” volley that can last for hours. Klunk is called Klunk because once he gets started on a topic it is nearly impossible to get him off. When he does finally switch topics, the ‘klunk’ of his mind switching gears is nearly audible. Klunk also like goading Rai into attacking, then teleporting out of the way. Level: 9 Experience: 0/700 Attacks:
- Harden
- Rage
- Teleport (egg move)
- Energy Ball (TM)
- Sand Attack
Nickname: Paperweight Species: MYSTERIOUS EGG Gender: ????? Age: Millions and millions of years old Personality: Devin gave Shey what she thinks is a paperweight for her birthday. Its actually a really really old fossil, but Shey doesn't know that. Devin hasn't told her either. He is just waiting for when it hatches. There's a pool running between him, his Pokemon, and Rai about what Shey's reaction will be. Devin only hopes that he is there to witness it. Buy in is $20. See Rai for details. Level: N/A Experience: 0/15 Posts to hatch (at 83 posts) Attacks:
Role Playing Sample: From another Pokemon site, with another character, but it should work, right?
Chrissy and Trig both felt the rush of satisfaction as Trig barreled into Lapine at full force, Chrissy imagining and Trig feeling the prick of the barbs that dotted the Nidoran’s fur. Luckily for Trig, the barbs didn’t penetrate the thick shell of the Tiny Twig Pokémon. As Lapine flew back, Trig took a moment to catch his breath. Battling was hard work for the little Pokémon. Chrissy watched with amazement as the opposing Nidoran recovered swiftly from Trig’s strong attack. That little Pokémon had guts, and was tougher than she appeared. A girl after my own heart Chrissy thought as she watched Lapine spring towards Trig, claws extended to scratch at her Pokémon’s green body.
Chrissy’s mind flew over the possibilities, just as Trig’s brilliant mind ran through the probability of escape and the likelihood of being hit with those deadly looking claws. Both the trainer and the Pokémon’s minds settled on the same course of action instantaneously. It was as if the answer had infected both of their brains with the same meningitis for battle. “Withdraw!” Came the call from the young trainer, one hand outstretched, tendrils of bronze hair escaping from her ponytail to brush against her cheeks and lips. Before the word completely escaped Chrissy’s lips, Trig had already withdrawn into his shell, withdrawing from the fierce onslaught of Lapine. The Nidoran’s claws scraped harshly against the hard shell, the sound loud and grating to the ears of Pokémon and Trainer alike. The damage was decreased by Trig’s withdraw, but the claws still hurt.
Trig popped his head out of his shell just as Chrissy shouted her next command “And Tackle again!” Turtwig propelled himself forward on strong legs, surging towards Lapine. The distance wasn’t far, so the attack was slower and less powerful than Trig’s opening attack, maybe leaving time for a crafty Pokémon like Lapine to dodge. Chrissy crossed her fingers in anticipation and hope that once again Trig could hit Lapine and avoid damage from the sharp spines. [/sub]
