Personal Related Information:
Personality:
Despite all rumors to the contrary, Jack is not a lazy, half-witted, useless, contemptuous troublemaker. He is a bit of a lunatic, though, prone to offering up things such as “the spirits did it” when explanations are demanded.
Although he might be a bit on the pathetic side, he’s a skillful, disciplined fighter and trainer, and love to pummel his opponents. He’s brave, although he avoids making a show of it, as it makes people follow him and ask him for favors, which he hates.
More than anything, he dislikes bloodshed, finding it to be a total waste and a truly horrific way to handle things. That isn’t to say it doesn’t have to happen sometimes, but still, ther’s nothing noble ro heroic about it, in his mind.
History:
Jack was born in a village named Lintu, on an island named Lutria. In Lintu, there was an ancient martial tradition known as the “Fist of Gentle Rest“, having been practiced for centuries by practitioners in a temple. The other major inhabitants of the Island were a large group of some fifty Snorlaxes, who lived in abundance from the people’s gardens in exchange for aid and protection.
Jack was offered as a student to the Lintu masters, and enjoyed his duties and training. Although most Snorlaxes strayed away from the temple, one Munchlax ended up straying there, and happily stayed in the care of the masters. At the behest of twelve-year-old Jack, the Munchlax was allowed to learn basic techniques, and fight and spar with the students.
Eventually, the munch lax evolved, and kept it’s name of Hotaka, the name of the mountain on which the monastery was founded. Hotaka and Jack became great friends, and Hotaka was far and away his favored student.
However, no amount of training could prepare them for war. To this day, no one is truly certain of the cause of the actual fight, but two tribes from neighboring Islands, the Ketu and Aligar tribes, both simultaneously attacked Lintu. The Lintu province called upon the Snorlax group for help, but the Snorlax group had emt their end at the hands unknown mercenaries hired by the tribe. At the age of fifteen, Jack was refugee, without his monastery, and with Hotaka there to help him survive, if barely.
Jack then began the career of a mercenary, earning the nickname soap both because he was very clean compared to other men at the docks, and because people kept failing at pronouncing his last name.
Jack’s most unusual job was robbing a tomb on a forsaken prison island. Through a series of unpleasant traps and the worst map ever designed, he ended up meeting Lucidia, who now continually joins him in his messed-up life.
Jack eventually sailed (crashed) in Remoor, finding the whole region to pretty much be a hellhole. However, he had no way to get back, so he sold his boat for scrap, and started wandering about, looking for work and fortune.
He eventually “caught” a Hoppip he now calls Mu. He considers Mu to be good at cheering people up, which is arguably the most useful skill anyone can have on this island.
He’s been in Remoor for about three months now. He’s running low on cash, so he’ll have to find some kind of work….

Name: Lucidia
Species: Ghastly
Age: hell if Jack knows. Pretty old.
Level: 20
Personality:
Lucidia, or Lucy, could best be described as the brilliant mind of Jack’s little group. Aside from constantly picking on people and hiding herself within Jacks body for fun and to scare the hell out of would-be attackers, little is known about her. She’s not well-behaved, and to be honest, Jack didn’t catch her. He beat her at a game of cards, and she decided to follow him around and help him survive. They still play games often.

Name: Hotaka
Species: Snorlax
Age: 22
Level: 54
Personality:
Hotaka is an unusual Pokemon. For starters, he wears a belt (around his head) to symbolize his skill in training with Jack. Second, he uses hand-to-hand combat, and prefers to move (lumber) across the battlefield and strike at melee, instead of fight at a range or sit around like most Snorlaxes and simply let the battle come to him..
The reson for this si that Snorlax did not grow up around snorlaxes and was secluded for special training alongside Jack at an early age by the Lintu elders, as part of an experiment to see if the local Snorlaxes could be trained as more potent guardians than they already were.
Despite the defeat of both Lintu village and the local Snorlax herds, Hotaka is a true success, beine a capable, diligent, and surprisingly hard working student. However, Hotaka is known for both having great pride and great strength, and has been known to react with unparalleled anger if he believes Jack is being hurt or threatened.
The last quirk of Hotaka’s is in the fact that although he’s very bright, he hardly ever speaks. Due to an incident involving poison and his larynx, he has a difficult time making even basic vocal patterns, and avoids talking if at all possible. Thankfully, he is not asked to speak often, so he simply makes cheery little grumbles.
Attacks:
- Tackle
- Yawn
- Snore
- Rest
- Body Slam
- Defense Curl
- Brick Breaker
- Double Team
Role Playing Sample:
“Hmm.”
Admittedly Jack said little on this particular turn but a little was a lot. A little was everything. Three moves left, and the game was dead even. He was only so-so at Reversi, but he would play it. He always did. He never could resist a good game or a good challenge.
He looked at his opponent, Lucidia, with a grin. “Your move, Lucy.”
The ghastly giggled thoughtfully, considering all three moves, knowing the best counter to each. If she picked the top corner, then he would use the other corner and win. If she used the bottom, he could counter with the top. If she used the middle, he would be trapped, stuck between choosing a corner to lose. So she proudly and happily placed her piece in the middle.
Jack smirked. “Good, but wrong.” He put his in the bottom corner. “Third piece on the grid makes the top corner a flawed move. Has been sicne seven moves ago.”
Lucidia giggles and sighed. “That was best two out of three, you win, Jack.”
Jack nodded. “You were a very good challenge,” he said with a smirk and a bow.
As if sent by a fluke, a man suddenly came flying through the window, and in spite of gravity, flew over the table and landed beside it.
Jack slowly got up and yawned. “That‘s my cue,” he said as Lucidia disappeared into the ground.
Jack slowly steeped out of the window.
“-and if we‘re not payed,” the large man nearby bellowed, “Electabuzz here will curb stomp everyone in this town!!”
Jack sighed. “Really now? You‘re the guy with the bounty on his head for 230? That‘s not even a fair price, he said, kicking off his shoes and smiling.”
The man turned around. “You would fight the Voltaic gang‘s leader? You‘ve fight me, and Sparky here?” he said, gesturing to the elect abuzz with a smile.
Jack nodded.
“Fry him.”
The Electabuzz zapped him with a thunderbolt, yelling loudly as he did so.
There was a blast of smoke from debris, and then nothing. And then, Jack was still standing there.
Jack smirked. The Man dropped his mouth half to the floor in shock. “How…did you do that?”
“Wrong question,” Jack muttered, moving slowly, combin his now completely frazzled hair. “You shouldn’t ask how I did what I did. You won‘t get an answer. You should ask, 'Why on earth would a man take off his shoes and step on a hot metal floor grate before deciding to attract your attention?' I‘ve taken worse hits, and I guess you could say….” He grinned widely , preparing for the line of triumph, “I‘m very well grounded.”
And with that, Jack put away the leader of the Voltaic Gang, formerly known as Blaster. He and Sparky were both detained for months.
