Other Appearance Information: Riley is fairly tall, and has short, red hair. Because of his hair, he has a very pale complexion, but fortunately no freckles. He's thin and lanky, with long legs and arms. Riley has bright green eyes. He normally just wears regular clothes, jeans and a short sleeved shirt. Riley's not fancy, he doesn't love dressing up, and doesn't care about looking nice, which is why his hair is usually a mess. He has a silver hoop earring in each ear. On his back is a scar from his right shoulder that goes down to his left hip. The rest of his back and arms are covered in other, smaller scars. When the weather's not that nice Riley will wear a sweatshirt.
Personal Related Information:
Personality: Riley is very laid back and easy going. He hates working with a passion, and could be easily called lazy because of that. He'd rather nap than study, and he'd rather drool on books than read them. It's not that he's stupid, quite the contrary, he's actually extremely intelligent, but it's just that the whole effort thing is a little too much for him. One thing that Riley really loves though is his pokemon. Since he left his house he pretty much spent non-stop time training them, and he spoils them like little lap dogs. Anything that he does, he does with his pokemon. They're always with him, through thick and thin. It almost breaks his heart if he has to leave one behind, even for a day. He shares everything with them, the good times, the bad times, the food, and sometimes even his bed. There isn't anything that he wouldn't do for them, they're his family, his life. Another thing about Riley is that he loves to laugh and joke around. Tense situations are not something he's comfortable with, instead he prefers something light and funny. Anything happy that can brighten someone's day is for him. He does have his depressed moments, but then again, who doesn't? It takes a lot to bring him down, but a can of pop or a good battle to bring him up again.
That's the thing about Riley, he's always up for a good battle. Left or right, sunup or sundown, he's ready to go. The only time he ever appears intelligent is when he's battling, though he's keen to make stupid mistakes every now and then. Overall, he tried to balance his team really well, but that turned out rather fail since he dislikes grass types. Their appearance just doesn't fit him. Riley also dislikes getting all dressed up. Blue jeans and a short sleeved shirt are good enough for him. Forget the fancy ties and shiny shoes, he'd much rather be covered head to toe in dirt. All that fancy talk and any snob make him want to throw up. He is the type of person who thinks of every creature as being equal. So Kul is just as important as, say, the leader of Pravus. He'd have no problem flipping burgers or working low end jobs if he actually didn't mind working. He despises working though, and it takes a huge Typhlosion to push him out his apartment door to go every day. In the end, he's not a bad person. Sure, he's commited some crimes and done some things that are considered "illegal," but overall he's very nice, laid back, and (unless you're his manager) trustworthy.
History: Riley was born into a rich and noble family. They were very wealthy, and hoped the best for all of their children. He grew up living the good life, you could say, relaxing on elegant couches and wearing the best clothes. However, when he reached ten years of age Riley realized that he wanted more in life than to be weighted on hand and foot. He was lazy when it came to things like schoolwork, yes, but he also wanted to be able to fend for himself and be able to do things on his own. Riley also grew up with several brothers and sisters, all of which he had to compete with to be called the favorite and given the most attention. It wasn't a hard life, just a lonely one. He took school lessons at home with a private tutor, and therefore didn't get to make many friends. The friends he did make were just sons of his parent's snobby friends, and were not true friends at all in his opinion. He left home in the dead of night, sneaking out the window and leaving a carefully folded piece of paper on his pillow for his parents. Why didn't he simply tell them that he was leaving? Well for one they wouldn't let him go, and for two, he'd be punished for even thinking of such an idea. Riley's only option was to abandon the only life he'd ever known.
It wasn't long before Riley discovered that life on his own really wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. He had to face it, he was lazy and had basically no knowledge about living by himself. He stopped by the nearest pokemon center to find a map so that he could get home. There he ran into a professor, who was very nice to him, and gave him a proper head start. Cyndaquil became Riley's first best friend, and then went everywhere together and trained for a whole year before Riley realized that it'd be fun to have all different kinds of pokemon. So there became he quest to catch a party as balanced as he possibly could, and to train them to high levels. Later, after all the disaster, the war, and world tumbling down around everyone, Riley decided to stop traveling as much, and to settle down a bit. So he used what money he had left to buy a small apartment, then he decided that he needed to find a job to keep the income coming. After a bit of lazy searching, Riley ended up working part time at the coffeehouse part time. Other than that he will basically do any job you offer to him. Whether that be delivering a letter or battling your worst enemy, Riley's up for the job (and the cash.)
Character's Pokemon:
Name: Kulvir. Gender: Male. Species: Typhlosion. Age: 7 years. Level: 53 Personality: Often referred to as Kul, this pokemon fits his name rather well. (Kulvir meaning "Brave soul.") He's always up for a fight, reading and roaring to go. Nothing can stop him once he's on fire and hyped up enough. The downside to Kul? Well, he's a lot like his trainer. He and Riley are both lazy good-for-nothings who would rather sleep than do much anything else. Of course, there's always time for a good battle before a nap. Have a fun time waking this brute up because he can get really grumpy, but most of the time Kul is pretty easy going.
Attacks:
- Flamethrower.
- Flame Wheel.
- Quick Attack.
- Earthquake. (TM move.)
- Crush Claw.
- Thunderpunch. (TM move.)
- Fire Punch.
Name: Kamau. Gender:Female. Species:Marowak. Age: 6 years. Level:48 Personality: Khal is very important to the group, as in some instances she has been the key holding it together. She's always the neutral factor, never taking sides, just calling them all morons. She doesn't speak or make noise all that often, but when she does it's usually explosive. Once offended, she'll do anything to stand up for herself or whoever she's defending. Kammi is like the mother figure in the group, kind and caring to her friends and family. She's very loyal and dependable in a tight spot.
Attacks:
- Bonemerang.
- Bone Rush.
- Ice Beam. (TM move.)
- Skull Bash.
- Dig. (TM move.)
Name: Reza. Gender: Female. Species: Absol. Age: 6 years. Level:45 Personality: Reza is probably the hardes to connect to in the group. She is positively cold with any stranger, but she's very outgoing and headstrong with the people she knows. Rez always has an opinion, and is usually willing to share it or force it upon others. She overestimates herself sometimes, ending up depressed in last place. She's a wonderful creature, but you have to take the time to get to know her first. Otherwise all you'll meet is a cool, cunning shield and dangerous eyes.
Attacks:
- Razor Wind.
- Bite.
- Perish Song.
- Shadow ball. (TM move.)
- Faint Attack.
Name: Saif. Gender: Male. Species: Manectric. Age:6 years. Level:42 Personality: Saif is a very interesting part of the team. He was caught already at a high level, used to battling by himself without back up. He hates to be told what to do, and hates being corrected if he's done something wrong even more. Riley learned over time that suggestions are best when it comes to Saif, and that the pokemon knows when it screws up, and if given some time on its own, will overcome the problem by himself. Saif isn't a loner though, he does like his friends and enjoys hanging out with them. You can tell though that he always feels as if he's balancing on the edge.
Attacks:
- Quick attack.
- Bite.
- Thunder.
- Rain Dance. (TM move.)
- Thunderbolt. (TM move.)
Name: Keaton. Gender: Male. Species: Staraptor. Age:6 years. Level:39 Personality: Oh Keat, he could probably win an award for pokemon hit in the head the most times. He loves diving headfirst into battle. Keat loves to be the hero, to save the day. He dreams day and night about being the strongest. Nothing can put him down, he's strong to the very end which makes him exceptionally reliable.
Attacks:
- Aerial Ace.
- Close Combat.
- Brave Bird.
- Ominous Wind.
- Fly (HM move.)
Name: Shiri "Song of my Soul" Gender: Female. Species: Vaporeon. Age: 4 years. Level:32 Personality: The Vaporeon is the newest and youngest in the group. She's often shy and timid, but has the heart of an angel. Shiri is very unsure of herself and her skills, even at such a high level. She won't hurt anyone unless it's in a battle, the only place where she can ever be called fearless. Once in a fight, Shiri is like a new person. She won't give up no matter what (maybe she gets that from admiring Keat too much.) You have to learn to be patient with Shiri, she only wants to be accepted and part of the group, though that takes her a while.
Attacks:
- Aqua Ring.
- Aurora Beam.
- Water Pulse. (TM move.)
- Iron Tail. (TM move.)
Role Playing Sample: From my own site, if that's okay ^^
The male's tail wagged slightly as he lapped up the cool liquid. Light blue eyes closed and just enjoyed the moment. It was so nice out! The warm breeze tickled his skin which was so used to the freezing gusts that made him want to crawl underground. It was weird to be able to be outside and actually really, really enjoy it. However, that didn't really matter much in the end. Finishing his drink, the male yawned, revealing sharp white canines, and stretched out his front legs. A dark brown, furry butt stuck up into the air and he waggled his tail a bit before shaking out his coat and looking around. His good eyesight caught another male in its grasp, and he cocked his head to the side. Suddenly the wind went still around the young male, but twirled and gasped around the stranger. It spun with the ferocity of a tornado, lifting the other from the ground. Elemental - Air. Magic. The young male snorted. Show-off. Sure, he couldn't exactly do that with his power yet, but what was the point of making such a show? Honestly, all it did was waste energy and make him look like a moron. Power like that should be saved for good battles. The young brute could feel the fire and anticipation building up within him, but he knew that even if he challenged the other he would lose. He just wasn't good enough yet, and he could accept that. Someday though.... The male sealed the other brute's form in his memory. Someday they would fight, not seriously, just for fun, and on that day he would win.
"G'd day. Ye be on me land, care to tell me 'he reason? I be Cadedryn, an' aught else ye c'n t'ink of shortnin' i' to," The young, brown wolf jumped slightly. He hadn't exactly noticed the lime green and gray wolf who'd somehow snuck onto the scene. Ahh well, it didn't matter much. The wolf's stance and his words ultimately declared him alpha, and that was exactly who he had been looking for. The male wagged his tail and loped over to the older wolf. He skid to a stop a good ten feet away, using his momentum he bent his head forward in a decent bow, his front right paw curled up off the ground as he did so. Snorting and pulling himself back into a stand, the young male continued to wag his tail and resisted the urge to run around. "Hey, I'm Keonyte." Keon pranced a few steps back and forward again, his energy nearly bursting from his veins. "I came from over the mountains to join a pack here, guess you got lucky, eh?" He chuckled a bit, only silently hoping that he hadn't offended the alpha. Then again, even if he had, there were more fish in the sea, so to speak. Certainly in such a big and wondrous place there was more than just one pack. He just ditch and quick as he could and head south. Sooner or later he was bound to run into someone. Maybe someone he could understand better.
The brown male laughed again and sat down, his tail continued to wag as its energy refused to be supressed. "You can call me Keon if ya like, or whatever else ya want.." He smiled and nodded his head, trying to show that he could actually be respectful when he wanted instead of a hyperactive stone-head who'd be nothing but trouble. It was hard to sit still though. Keon knew that he'd calm down as soon as the excitement passed, but after such an exhilarating run and then meeting the very creature he'd been looking for he couldn't help but he happy. The emotion filled him to the brim and tried climbing out his ears. It was absolutely impossible to contain. Like trying to trap water in a strainer. Eyes glanced to the side at the other male who was apparently an intruder as well. Was he looking to join this Cadedryn's pack? Or did he have different intentions? Keon hoped that there was enough room in the pack for both of them if he did want to join. However, if it was a test of skin Keon was sure that he'd lose, as much as it pained him to admit.
